  1. wouldn't mind barkley but the thing is the pressure would be quite big on him.
  2. Rooney - natural goalscorer, what a player
  3. Oxlade and Barkley look quite good tbf. Good young talents.
  4. I think a more salmon kind of pink would work better but this is too strong.
  5. apparently atletico are close to signing siquera - a left back from granada. That would probably further indicate that that move paves the way for Luis' move to Chelsea... sigh. wanted this to be nothing but a rumour but it looks like it's actually happening.
  6. fabregas does really well for the 1st half of the season but drops off massively in the second for some reason.
  7. Fabregas is not a mourinho-type player; no idea why he would sell Mata/KDB but then go for Fabregas. He wouldn't really fit nent to Nemanja in CM either.
  8. ...60m euro release clause...
  9. For the past decade we've relied a lot on Roman's heavy investment for our success -- he won't be here forever and will probably eventually look to sell. Then what? There's no guarantee we'll have a multi multi billionaire take us over to be able to continue this investment, nor should we be relying on that really. Thus, a sustainable method, which may hamper short-term success would assist us in the long run by generating greater revenues from tickets, not limited to just Chelsea matches but others too. It depends on who funds the project too; if Roman decides to stay for longer and helps fund it we'll probably be fine -- and have short-term success. Point is though, whilst other clubs are building new stadiums, it's for a reason; now that all of them will look to have one we'll be the only ones behind. The Sheikhs for example were looking to drastically improve youth facilities and build a new stadium to create a new sustainable model in the future -- which is a pretty good idea. We already have the youth part covered so a stadium would help with this. Furthermore, I'm sure both Old Trafford and the Emirates have stadiums with room to expand -- expansions which would probably be too costly for some of the others. United are well ahead in their size as well either way. Really though, 55k would be enough -- it doesn't have to be 65k at this moment in time as there's no guarantee we would be able to fill it.
  10. would courtois count as homegrown? since we've had him since 2011. I can't find any info on whether or not overseas loans count.
  11. 13 goals with 11 assists last season. 4m + add-ons depending on time played. Liverpool fan, with lowish wages. Could do a lot worse for a 3rd choice striker. Better than aspas anyways, lol.
  12. He's 21 now; similar ages to our other players. If the championship is a good start for him, then well, I don't think he'll make it. If he doesn't make it now, he won't in the future. Not a fan of these loan moves either way -- they haven't really worked for us or many other teams lately. Either we bring him to the first team or don't bother.
  13. tbf, thinking about it some more I wouldn't mind him. Good stamina, good in retaining possession. As long as we get a marquee signing with him then that's enough depth. This is all assuming that lampard leaves.
  14. seems like liverpool have made now made a bid for moreno. Weren't we interested?
  15. To be fair, regarding the CMs, I don't think it's wrong to think we should have many to be honest. We used to be stacked there with huge quality in Lampard, Essien, Tiago, Deco, Ballack and now it just isn't as good. It made us so much harder to dominate and we were often the ones who would run things in midfield -- I don't see it here. I certainly wouldn't mind getting more than one. Although Paulinho/Fabregas/Pogba is far too unrealistic and unattainable, lol.
  16. yeah tiago makes even less sense
  17. That's exactly it -- he is like Park Ji-Sung. We can surely do a lot better really. Baker could probably do a better job. I will be disappointed if he's one of the indispensables
  18. What we need is a 26 y/o Lampard and that will sort most things out. Anyone have a time machine?
  19. Can't imagine Cahill being part of this spine. By the time terry retires he'll be what, 30? Our old spine had been with us 8 years (drogba), and then 13 (lampard), with terry and cech still here. I can't imagine Cahill being there for that long. Courtois -- Cesar Azpilicueta (doesn't have to be a CB) -- Matic -- Hazard
  20. no thanks jeff. If we're going to go for a barca winger let's go for pedro
  21. now we're going to see headlines about how mourinho is a specialist in failure since real madrid won the competition after he left... one reason why i didn't want them to win.
  22. put your shirt back on ronaldo
