Too defensive. Why take Pulisic off? Genuinely baffled.

One Step Beyond.........
Understatement of the year "these guys don't take themselves too seriously". Like Munkworth, can't wait to hear that again in its proper place. Hearing it now made me all emotional!

Atletico Madrid v Chelsea (CL) Tues 23rd Feb 2021 20:00 GMT
I spoke to someone at work today who is a Shrewsbury season ticket holder, he is a Leeds fan and his son is a Chelsea fan - so three matches watched last night and extremely pleased with all three!

Just catching up on the match chat from last night. Well done Imran for calling that straight away!

I had my quota of goals earlier in the evening - my local team Shrewsbury were 3-0 up in 20 minutes! ?. Not often I get two such good results in a matter of 3 hours!

Bayern Munich (3) vs (0) Chelsea 08/08/20, 20:00 GMT
My impression was that Kovacic was caught napping, lost the ball and went over after minimal contact (if any) hoping to get a foul. They're usually given.

Bayern Munich (3) vs (0) Chelsea 08/08/20, 20:00 GMT
I know you're right. But it just seems that in the last two games, we've had them all go against us. And no discussion from TV of either the goals disallowed for offside yesterday or the handball outside the area last week - I know it sounds like whinging with blue specs but it still seems tough. Last season their first goal would have been disallowed and our first allowed. But VAR overturned both.

I know in the scheme of things it didn't matter last night but when did we ever have a VAR decision in our favour?

Man Utd v Chelsea (FA-Semi) Sun 19th July 2020 18:00 GMT
Nice guy as well. Crowd favourite when he was on loan at Shrewsbury. Passionate about the game too and a bit of a character - loved his celebrations whenever the Shrews scored and/or won.

Chelsea v Norwich (PL) Tues 14th Jul 20:15 GMT
Boy that was hard to watch. And literally as soon as the full time whistle went, my cat sat on the TV controls and turned the TV over. Cats aren't stupid - he knew we'd suffered enough but just wanted to make sure CFC had won

Please Educate this New American Chelsea fan!
I genuinely don't remember it being on my radar in the 70s and 80s but then there's a lot I don't remember from the 70s and 80s!

I'm not sure, I'm pretty old but if an earlier post was right and it was mainly in the 90s, that was when I moved from London and had three young kids so everything was a bit of a haze. Tbh I couldn't care less about Scottish football, it just has no significance to me, just as I don't really favour any French or Belgian teams - it just doesn't matter to me. I do of course know that it's Rangers rather than Celtic as far as Chelsea fans go but like I say to me it's irrelevant. I don't mean of course that that's what everyone thinks, just saying that it's not all Chelsea fans that care.

I remember many times standing transfixed in front of the TV waiting for the magical "FT" to appear next to a scoreline or the score to change!

I really do think that if Chelsea do this, I will be finished. I don't say that lightly, I love our club but there are principles here and it will be unforgivable to pay ridiculous transfer fees and salaries to players and then claim government assistance. Corrupt.

But 80% paid by the Government and only 20% by Liverpool. Shocking!

Love David Squires - "The 2-2 draw was a cruel blow for an under strength Liverpool team (no Van Dijk, no Mane, no VAR)". And this. Absolutely true. It's as though other teams don't have to play lots of games and haven't had to in previous years. The whole thing is here https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2020/jan/28/david-squires-on-football-fixture-wars-fa-cup-carabao-liverpool-manchester-city?fbclid=IwAR0YPoe0aClM-yq-f3KNUCivQI0bQ3puCwYwHBQhsOR9mO6gTet1o4Sp3rM Which also brings me to Liverpool's slogan - "We are Liverpool. It means more." How f**king arrogant!! Who says that other teams don't care as much or more as they f**king do? Every time I see that phrase it makes me cross!

Interestingly, Shrewsbury have played 36 matches this season against Liverpool's 38, with a much smaller squad obviously. And I bet they have far worse travelling arrangements but you don't hear them complaining about tiredness. My heart bleeds for Liverpool.

Anybody got a second team you support not in a top division?
It happened back in 2003 - while I have a soft spot for Shrewsbury, it was Chelsea. It wasn't a conscious decision but just where my heart was and is.
