  1. Against a prime Ronaldo and all the money Real were splashing at the time it was no easy task. Bayern is slightly easier domestically but once again Dortmund aren't exactly push overs so to finish 10 points ahead is impressive.
  2. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3588871/Chelsea-beat-Manchester-United-Premier-League-shirt-sales.html Surely all a shirt sponsorships should be bothered about is shirt sales at the end of the day as that is where they make their money back? We're the highest premier league seller and third in world football. I'm in no way saying we're a bigger club than Utd or Madrid but as we're selling more shirts than them surely we should be entitled to a similar pay packet?
  3. I can't see him winning much at Utd. Not with City getting Pep, Klopp having a summer to build, Tottenham looking stronger and all the dark horses like Leicester, West Ham, Southampton etc.. Wherever Pep goes he tends to dominate domestically so i can't really see anyone getting the better of him for the next two years or so. We've seen how Utd fans reacted to LvG's 'philosophy' of boring football so just imagine what it'll be like under Mourinho. Sure, he might win an FA cup or league cup but i highly doubt he'l dominate. I'm giving him 3 years maximum. Someone give me odds on Mourinho to have a mental breakdown in the next 4 years please.
  4. I think the hierarchy will be more lenient. We saw how long they stuck with Mourinho towards the end when he would have been gone by the start of October any other time. As long as Conte doesn't have us fighting relegation we should be fine.
  5. So by your logic shall we compare him to Costa at the same ages? When Costa was 20 he hit 8 goals in 34 games. As you just pointed out Morata hit 8 in 23.. Following season for Costa was 6 goals in 28 games. Morata? 8 in 29. For the next 4 seasons Costa didn't hit over 10 goals in a season. It was only when he turned 25 that he started banging them in. Or shall we wait until Morata is older and spend £80m on him?
  6. More than half of his appearances have been coming off the bench in a front two. 11 goals and 9 assists in less than 2000 minutes of football all season. Contributing to a goal every 99 minutes. Better than Costa's contribution of every 132 minutes. Many people want Lukaku resigned yet only averages one every 102.4 minutes. Most people just look and see he scored 11 goals in 46 games this season and assume he's sh*t. If he played every game from the start imagine what he could do. There is a reason almost every team in England wants him.
  7. I'm assuming the people saying he struggles to score goals have never actually watched him play? Unreal player. Would take him as first choice striker at Chelsea.
  8. I think he's be more a direct replacement for Oscar
  9. i think there is a difference between a bit of pushing and shoving and the several brawls that occurred during this game. Especially the one at the end of the match.
  10. He's only really been on one proper loan. His loan to Reading he was only there a couple of months and played like 5 games so can't class that as 'cleaning up'.
  11. He's never been as effective in the false 9 and we've got players who already operate there better. Look at Conte's 352, he never really used an out and out attacking mid. More a deeper playmaker.
  12. I agree with almost all of this, especially the whole 'Cesc and Ruben' can't coexist. Not unless we had peak Makalele around. Its obvious Ruben needs minutes on the pitch, not sure why Guus was so reluctant to play him and when he did wasted him in the 10 role. Nothing more frustrating than seeing Matic and Mikel on the pitch together with RLC on the bench.
  13. Hi Stim, Zouma cost us £13m when he was 18, quite a lot of money for someone of that age. I was going to mention Azpi actually. I remember seeing many fans on twitter say we shouldn't waste money on Azpi and should have signed someone younger and more proven. It was only when he got a run in the team and became a kinf of cult hero that people started praising him. Who's to say Djilibodji wouldn't have done the same? Ivanovic in his first season rarely played. Cahill was signed for £7m with less than a year left on his contract and wanted by a host of premier league teams like Utd.
  14. Doesn't want Zlatan who has just hit 38 goals in 29 starts this year yet wants Andy Carroll who has scored 30 goals in the last 9 years.. C'mon now.
  15. I think he's a great player but wouldn't signing him mean we're sticking with the dreaded 4231? I don't really think we need a number 10 anymore.
  16. Say we keep him and we did get relegated. Would you have still stood by him? the fact of the matter is the man completely imploded this season. He's always wanted the Utd job from the start, Chelsea was just a stepping stone for him.
  17. I don't think money is one of those things where you just go "yeah i've got enough now, i don't need anymore". If you have the option to make a hell of a lot more money, you should.
  18. Cesc isn't in the team to be a runner so its harsh to compare him, he controls the play and tempo of the game with his passing. Ruben doesn't have that trait so he's expected to do more of the leg work. Don't get me wrong, i think Ruben has been fantastic on the ball this year but he seems to shut off during games. I don't think its his attitude that he can't be bothered to run. I think he has lapses of concentration and forgets his role within the team. Something that should fade with age, experience and playing time.
  19. To be honest you speak the truth with this last bit. Djilobodji was bought for next to nothing after a good few years in France, but Mourinho launched his toys out of his pram because he didn't get the £45m defender he wanted. Instead of giving him a go he excluded him. Terry and Cahill were both playing poorly and Zouma is still young so there was 0 downfall in playing Papy. There seems to be a stigma within Chelsea that if a player doesn't cost us £30m then he shouldn't be playing for us.
  20. Could they afford his wages? Utd or Arsenal if you ask me
  21. Fear? I Pray that's the next gift from Roman!
  22. Courtois - 5/10 Poor season by his standards but still looks like he can be a world stopper on his day. Would do everything possible to keep him in summer. Begovic - 6/10 - Had a good season when relied on other than the Liverpool mistake. Don't think he will ever be good enough for first choice. Not sure he'll be happy rotting on the bench again next season. Azpilicueta - 6/10 - Same old Azpi doing exactly what was asked. Looked shaky at times and looks uncomfortable on the right now. Baba - 5.5/10 - Strange player. Looked world class against PSG and had every player in his back pocket. Same with Mahrez last game of the season. Then other games looks like a complete failure. Looks low on confidence and needs a proper run in the team next year. Terry - 5.5/10 - Not a great season but not as bad as many pundits have made out. His leadership qualities alone are the reason he should be in the starting 11. Cahill - 6.5/10 - Never really been a massive fan of Cahill but he's been one of the better defenders at times. Still stands off his man too much but good squad player. Zouma - 8/10 - The shining light of the season. Massive improvement in every aspect of his game. Shame about the injury but will hopefully come back stronger. Miazga - 3/10 - Signed for a marketing ploy and nothing more. Got better players in the youth setup. Hopefully won't see much more of him. Ivanovic - 5/10 - Woeful RB. Competent CB. Been useful to fill in with the absence of our CB. Would only use him there in future. Matic - 1/10 - The drop in his level is ridiculous. Head looking elsewhere. Didn't even celebrate when he scored the other day. Would be happy to cash in come summer. Fabregas - 7/10 - Poor under Mourinho, but who wasn't? Second half of the season has been the model professional for Chelsea. Looking more confident and taking control of games. Ramires - 5.5/10 - Miss his workrate in the middle but for £25? Cya. Mikel - 6.5/10 - Thought he was vital in our turn around this season with Matic's performances. He's never going to make headlines but solid player. Oscar - 2.5/10 - As bad as Matic this season but more expected from Oscar given his drop in recent seasons. Not creative enough for a number 10, not fast enough for a winger and useless played deeper. Doesn't have a role in the squad, would sell asap. Loftus-Cheek - 6/10 - Comes in for a game, gets motm and then gets dropped for the rest of the month. He's looked lazy at times but unreal when he has the ball at his feet. Think he's wasted at #10. Played deeper he could replicate Lamps with those late runs into the box. Needs a disciplined partner next to him though. Pedro - 6/10 - The only one of our wingers that looks like a natural goalscorer. Offers something different from everyone else. Good figures for a first season in England. Most people seem to do even better second season round. Hazard - 4/10 - Turned up against Arsenal and the last 4 games or so. Rest of the season has been abysmal. I believe there is a lot more to his story than we know whether it be personal issues or what. Only player in the squad who is truly world class so need him more than ever next season. Willian - 5/10 - Been over rated this season because of his freekicks. Still offers nothing other than an engine anywhere else on the pitch. He is Ramires on the wing. Need to upgrade. Kenedy - 6/10 - Has looked great in every game until about March. Think lack of playing time has effected him. For his age he looks more than up for the physical demands of the league though. Will be a good squad player next year. Costa - 6/10 - A good striker who will always score goals on his day but his attitude and injuries have been concerning. One day he'll run his heart out for the team and the next screaming for a slight misplaced pass. Good striker but not sure if he's still worth the hassle? Remy - 1/10 - Nothing to say. Needs to leave. People were calling for him to get more play time yet proved he's sh*te Falcao - 1/10 - Dog sh*te Pato - 5/10 - I think he offers something our other strikers don't with his runs behind. Can also play on the wing. Would sign him up as a back up for next season with the Remy money. Traore - 7/10 - Looked good when brought on for the last half hour popping up with goals and his goal against Stoke was great. Don't think he can operate as a lone striker it would do well with someone next to him. Looks like one of the youth that will make it.
  23. Too many words for me and my attention span.
  24. He was a pointless signing anyway what with Zouma playing great, Christensen shining on loan and Tomori and JCS coming through the ranks.
  25. I completely agree. After it looked like we were no longer going to get relegated i would've liked to have seen a full 90minutes for youngster quite often. Instead we stuck with Mikel, Matic, Ivan etc. How Aina still hasn't has a look in with our full back options this year has amazed me. Fair point about the top 4. I don't believe Chelsea would become an academy club and not compete for silverware. If anything, the players we're developing should help us compete for silverware more so. Aina could have arguably done a better job than Baba or Ivan this season. Palmer could probably have matched Oscar's output. Same goes for RLC and Matic.
