Saul is left footed and has played two full games at wing back. Simeone has judged that he is better suited there than midfield. Yes, at one time Saul was playing very well at midfield however he suffered a kidney injury and he appears to lack confidence right now. He is no longer a top midfielder and he may not be suited to the physical play in the PL.

Saul isn't even being used as a midfielder by AM so far in 2020. The history of kidney problems is a concern. Tchouameni is much younger, athletic and better defensive midfielder. That is critically important given Kante's injury history.

Don't you remember how easily Chelsea was able to get through Athletico Madrid midfield during last year's Champions League? Niquez also has had a history of kidney problems. AM isn't.even using him as a midfielder any more. I don't see how this guy is much better than RLC or Ampadu at this point. Tchouameni would be a much better option as younger, stronger and better overall player.

The last thing that Chelsea needs is another left footed WB. They just loaned out Emerson and Chilwell can't get any playing time with Alonso getting the bulk of the playing time.

Niquez can't even start for Athletico Madrid. He is a backup player at this point of his career. Tchouameni would only cost about 25 million pounds and he could pair very well with Ksnte. The price may even drop further if Monaco gets eliminated from the Champions League tomorrow.

Disagree. Niquez is nothing more than a backup at this stage of his career. If Chelsea wants to win the PL they need to improve their starting midfielders. I don't see how spending 60 to 70 million pounds for Kounde makes this team better. It seems that they are prioritizing that acquisition which is also tied to selling Zouma. They can acquire either Camavinga or Tchouameni for half that price and they will compete for a starting position. Tchouamnei could also be a very valuable backup for Kante given his injury history.

Both players are rated significantly higher than Niquez. They are also much younger and healthier than Niquez. Why would Chelsea want a guy who can't even crack the lineup at RM? Plus Chelsea already has a surplus of CBs, even if Zouma transfer to West Ham goes through. Kounde is a luxury whereas a young, talented midfielder is an obvious need right now.

Tchouameni and Camacinga are far superior midfileders. Either one could be acquired for approximately 35 million Euros. Get it done, Marina.

Tchouameni will cost about 1/3 the price of Rice. He is also a much better overall player compared to Rice. Chelsea has plenty of midfielders who have limited offensive skills such as Rice. There is a clear need for a starting midfielder to move Kovacic to the bench. Tchouameni for $30 million makes sense for the current Chelsea team.

James and Why? He should start and Chelsea should crush Arsenal right away. Don't give them any hope of winning the game. You can sub Lukaku around 55 minutes with hopefully at least a 2 goal lead.

Kovacic has 1 goal in 91 PL matches. He is also not a very good passer. There is a clear need for a midfielder who can finish and pass with better accuracy. Kovacic would be a nice player for depth off the bench when needed.

What's the deal with James and Chilwell getting little to no playing time? Neither one played much during the Euros this Summer. Clearly they are better than Azpi and Alonso. Both James and Chilwell are far superior overall players, including crossing to Lukaku in the box. Why spend all testimony on Lukaku and not get him the ball?

Kovacic did okay vs CP. However they are a potential relegation team. Kovacic is quite poor playing in the final 1/3 of the pitch with poor passing and finishing skills. Chelsea need a midfielder such as Carnavinga or Tchouameni this transfer window.

Chelsea clearly need another midfielder. Don't get fooled by yesterday's Palace as they will likely be in the relegation zone this year. Use the proceeds of the Abraham AS Roma as a part of the financing to acquire Tchouamen or Carnavinga. Both are young and dynamic midfielders which is a glaring need at Chelsea.

This seems to be more like if you can't be with the one you love (Haaland), then love the one you're with (Lukaku). Not a bad fall back option as the transfer (pub) closing time was approaching.

Azpi, Rudiger, Sylva nd Christenson are heading into their final contract year. Zouma appears to be on the sell side this transfer window. All these Academy losses are going to hurt more if Chelsea can't re-sign Christenson and Rudiger.

Carnavinga is a much younger and better midfielder at this point. I would much rather him over Rice, Saul, etc as he is a more complete player.

I would take 3 years of Lewandowski for $40 million and flip Tammy to the highest bidder. Then go after Carnavinga who is the box to box midfielder the club needs.
