Posted December 2, 20195 yr As far as I know we have yet to be linked to Grealish, but I suspect it is only a matter of time before Villa are tested by a big bid. Robbie Savage is making that case in this article:  https://metro.co.uk/2019/12/02/jack-grealish-urged-join-chelsea-80m-deal-stunning-manchester-united-display-11253477/?ito=newsnow-feed  I've watched a few Villa games in recent weeks and have been very impressed by Grealish. He is involved in almost every good move that Villa put together and he has a really good eye for a pass. He would be the type of player who could make a difference in a tight home game (like the West Ham game) where we are faced with a well organized defense. We will all get a chance to see him action this week. Hopefully we can keep him quiet 😉
December 2, 20195 yr He's a great player, looks like what Barkley should have been at this point. Only Pulisic looks as explosive like him from our squad...Would be a good signing no doubt, I also hope he doesn't get too happy in the next gameÂ
December 2, 20195 yr Better than Isco, poor man's Hazard. I expect him to sign for Man City or United, hopefully agent JT has a word. Edited December 2, 20195 yr by the special one
December 2, 20195 yr Anyone else think he could offer us something different in Midfield? He wouldn't come cheap but I think he's a talent, he might have a bit of attitude but his type of player usually have. He would certainly be a better option than Barkley imo, Anyone any thoughts?
December 2, 20195 yr Barkley's place will be filled by Conor Gallagher. Unless there's a bonafide world option and I'm talking prime Iniesta/Xavi/Pirlo level option available and genuinely attainable midfield is the last place we need to invest in anytime soon, it's the one position on the pitch where our options are title winning.

Worldie of a player, can play multiple positions so won't displace anyone while adding creativity, it's a no brainer
December 2, 20195 yr I already said that he is a player like I hoped Barkley would have been. A type of player that can win games by his own. He's playing for Aston Villa that is just recently back in the top flight, but that lower quality team overall isn't really stopping him from showing that he is a good player in my eyes. 3 goals and 4 assists so far. Similar to someone like Maddison, lower quality stats than De Bruyne, but again, taking in count the overall quality of the team...Graelish is going to change his club soon enough! We do need a player like Grealish. A healthy RLC and Grealish in front of Kante would be a real force of a midfield. If not Grealish than someone like Milinkovic-Savic. SMS is a good player but he's a unit like Barkley. The EPL seems to be less about physicality and more about ability to play in tight spaces. That's where Grealish fits like a glove, sadly I just don't see it happening.

He's a great player, not just good. He can boss the midfield since he's not only tall but has a lot of technique, this is why there is not one position for him in the midfield but he contributes in every phase of the game, I think Lampard would personally love this type of player. Though I do think that when RLC comes back we wouldn't need to worry about Sergej, but still we should still go for Jack either way, in the summer we should be able to it's not that hard specially if we finish the season in top 4. December 3, 20195 yr Definitely a luxury signing if we do go for him, whilst he's definitely playing better than Barkley right now - I see Barkley's spot being taken by Gallagher sooner rather than later

Midfield of Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic are arguably the best MF in world football when they are all playing at their best. And our other options such as RLC, Mount, Barkley with Gallagher and Gilmour coming up, we are sorted in this position for a long long time.

"Best MF" on an individual basis perhaps, but is it a winning MF? I'm no longer convinced.
December 3, 20195 yr Not as good as Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic, RLC or Mount. Probably better than Barkley but he doesn't get a look in anyway so it's pointless. If we need to shift someone out onto the wings Mount can play that role too. Grealish would be better off being a big fish in a little pond and stay at Villa for his career.

Though only Kante and to a very small degree if any, Jorginho, are capable to win games by themselves. Grealish would be a great addition to our team, we are pretty thin and have little options for now when it comes to midfield goal threat.

Is Grealish better than RLC or Mount? No. Â

That's all well and good, but what did they create second half against City? Nothing. I think we lack creativity and Grealish has that in his locker, we need alternatives to what we've currently got imo if we are to get to the next level and get closer to City and Liverpool. Â

Grealish is 24, has 4 years Premier League experience under his belt and has 3 goals and 4 assists as Villa's main man. Mount is 20, first year in the Prem and has 4 goals and 1 assist. Having said that, RLC is better than both. 18 minutes ago, Osgoodwasgood said: That's all well and good, but what did they create second half against City? Nothing. Â What would Grealish have created in the second half against City? My guess would be just as little. If we're signing someone for creativity, I wouldn't be looking at many English players.Â
December 4, 20195 yr Deserved every bit of stick he got at the Bridge tonight. Put him in a team with Mount and Pulisic and we'll go to another level.
December 4, 20195 yr Just a sh*t Mason Mount. If he put as much effort in to playing football as he did falling over he might be a world beater.Â
