  1. it's how many they put past us that I'm worried about. Over 130 goals and counting this season for Barcelona.
  2. Think is that Barcelona don't rely on Messi the way that other clubs rely on their best player. Hiddink can't put anything extra on Messi because then the likes of Xavi and Iniesta will get too much space. I'm fearing the worst for the Barca game, they are the best side in the world by a long stretch.
  3. It's sickening how Liverpool's 'heroism' will be praised to high heaven, yet the fact that we wrenched the game back into our favour not once but twice will only be praised grudgingly. As for RAWK, what do you expect?? There such complete hypocrits praising their players for such character when clearly our situation required at least as much mental strength. To be fair Drogba behaviour was pretty disgraceful (anyone else notice when after a restart he booted the ball out for a goal kick as afar from Reina as possible? That's just not on) One final thing while were on the subject of liverpool fans... It's disgusting how so many of their fans use the 96 and the Hillsborough tradgey as a mark of pride. Hillsborough has absolutely nothing to do with the match on the pitch or fan rivalry, saying bullsh*t like winning the league will bring justice to the victims or other such nonsense that I see all over Liverpool forums is pretty disgraceful. Especially when Liverpool fans will slate United for abusing the Munich air crash, hypocrisy of the highest order
  4. Brilliant achievement. It was obvious that in some games (Villa last year, Utd this year, Spurs in the cup a few years back) that teh record spured us on when we were behind. The sheer arrogance that it gave some of our players when we were behind, "how dare you start beating us", was something that I took great pride in. However I'm kind of glad that it has finished now. The record was definetly something of the Mourinho era, (carried on by Grant admirably) and now that it's over I feel that the club can move on. I don't think we will loose our air of invincibility at all, on the contary it should give us a wakeupcall. I would be worried about next week if I were a Hull fan.
  5. Liverpool will cram 5 in the midfield with a player on each flank to stop Cole and Bosingwa. If Kalou and Malouda cut inside a lot then we should be able to over-run their midfield. Playing Belleti could allow Mikel to surge forward more, but Deco gives us so much more creatively. Interesting selection issue. I would play Ballack if he was fit, so we can dominate the midfield even more. If we get it right tactically we could put a few past them. if not then I think we will do well to scrape a 1-0 win. I say Scolari will get it spot on and we beat the scum 3-0.
  6. Brilliant. I've been banging on about this for ages. Hopefully it will stop the ritual surrounding of ref's which is frankly embarrassing when Chelsea are involved. Plus the ref's will be able to make themselves clear to the captain, who will find it hard to rant and rage in a one-on-one situation.
  7. I think our inactivity is to do with the amount of players at our club. I suspect Scolari feels he has to shift players first before lining up replacements. e.g. a new striker can't be approached if we have Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Di Santo Sheva and Pizzaro at the club - a couple of those have to go first. We've already spend 24million don't forget.

£8mill for a player with Deco's quality is a good signing, even if we only get 2 seasons out of him. I would expect to see a centre midfield off.. -------Essien------ Ballack------Deco I'm resigned to Lampard leaving and Makelele is too old to hold a regular slot IMO. Mikel will be backup for all 3 I feel, which should see him getting quite a few games which he needs...
  9. It's not just 2 decent performances though. if you had watched Zenit in the UEFA cup you would have seen Arshavin dominate. I believe this guy is the real deal not just a one tournament wonder.

Drogba is a hinderance to us now. When we have him in our team we are forced to play hoofball to Drogba on his own. Obviously this works, but it is getting rather stale now as other clubs have worked it out. He is much better on his own as well, which is to the detriment of all the other strikers. I recognize his ability but I just feel he defines the way we play and therefore restricts us.
  11. Arshavin has been fantastic this season. Top top player. WOuld love him to join Chelsea and would take him above Deco or Van der Vaat (who did nothing tonight in comparison) However considering the money that has been pumped into Russian football and the success of CSKA and Zenit, Arshavin may just stay where he is. Chelsea are obviously a better team than Zenit and playing on a bigger stage, but Russian football is definitely on the up. EDIT: Woops just saw the quote from Advocaat on the previous page. In that case we should go for him. He won't be going to the likes of Newcastle if he continues like this in Euro 2008.

I really really really want Villa to come to Chelsea, he would answer all our problems. Even though we could have got him half the price before the Euro's it would still be worth it. Apart from Barca there isn't that much competition. Deluded Liverpool fans think that by selling of all the dead wood they will manage to to buy Villa. But Villa will go at over £30mill IMO. Besides Rafa won't spend his budget all on one player when Liverpool need 3 or 4. They won't outbid us either. Villa and Anelka would be a great partnership. Sheva can be given one last chance with a partner, especially if Anelka plays as poorly as he did against Romania. None of this will happen however if we don't get a manager as soon as the Euro's are over
  13. The response to JT has been very revealing. Fans who have no knowledge of what it is like in a high pressure environment such as taking that penalty are quick to jump on his back. Taking responsibility quickly becomes massaging your ego. I haven't heard one ex-player lay into Terry, clearly if you have experience of that situation you are better placed to give judgement. Oh and isn't this country so wonderfully negative, any opportunity to give a bit of lip to talent.
  14. Still, its a lot more classy than Kenyon. What was he doing up there in the first place. He has no real link with our team and very few like him. A corporate winner for a corporate event
  15. This made me so angry. What the f**k is Kenyon doing grinning and leading our boys up before taking a medal. Compare that slimy greaseball with Charlton who led the United players up and refused a medal as he realises its all about the players. Absolutely disgraceful from Kenyon.
  16. I think Fergie has learned that he can't wind us up. This week he attacked Bolton, suggesting that a party their players attended 6 days before the game accounted to a rolling over at Chelsea. Result:Bolton fight very hard at the Bridge and snatch a late equalizer to rub salt into the wound. Clever Bugger. at least he can't wind up other clubs for the CL final. His attempts in the media will be fascinating in their impotence. Grant is great at stonewalling media wind ups. His response to Fergies Bolton rant was hilarious, "I think he(Sir Alex) works for Mossad. But I can't say" Brilliant.
  17. Just for sentiment, Sheva. Good to see him score in what will probably be his last ever appearance. Malouda and Ashley were good. Drogba started well then fell asleep
  18. It was definatley a god move to leave a sub till the end. However during Shevas substitution Babel scored and I think that Grant had to go through with the substitution. Anyway Sheva did well in taking the ball to the corner flag a few times. What odds on him scoring the winner in Moscow?
  19. YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!! Unbelievable feeling at the moment, it has taken more than 20 years of hard work to bring Chelsea FC up from the depths to the champions league final. Finally done it!!!!! Oh and media boo boys thats for you.
  20. Today the team played great football and was full of passion and commitment. Hats of to Avram today. Tactics, team selection and Substitutions were spot on.
  21. Brilliant performance, our best of the season by far. It was a clear penalty from where I saw it and the replay Ive seen suggestes the lines man was spot on. Essien played the ball in and Fletcher had a good 2 seconds to get his hand out the way which is easily long enough. The first penalty United have conceded all season, (a stat that doesnt surprise me one bit) Uniteds claim for a penalty from Ronaldo was ludicrous. Ballack was far ahead of Ronaldo and was falling, Ronaldo just decided to fall on top of him. ballack was outstanding. Ashley, JT and Essien were also superb. The only blip was teh Carvalho horror but even that couldn't stop us. In the space of 2 games I am suddenly very confident about Chelsea FC. Get In!!!
  22. Well Mark Hughes was a boyhood Chelsea fan so I doubt he holds much allegiance to Man U these days. Would be interesting to see the chelsea hating medias response if Bruce puts out a weakened team.
  23. Begin Righteous anger// Well f**k you! All 90 minutes you stuck your slimy journalist dick up Liverpools arse. Not a positive word on Chelsea. Ballack had a fierce shot blocked which recieved no comment, A gerrard shot would have resulted in orgasms. Babel is now the "wizard on the wing" Skertels routine clearance was greated with gushing praise. The fact that we scraped a 1-1 with a last second own goal is made all the better . I hope many hacks had sent their copies out bumming Liverpool before the riise gift. Eat that you biased c**ts. //End righteous anger
  24. I actually think Pizarro is a decent player, when given a partner. However when used he is on his own which doesn't work because he is the kind of forward who drops very deep to recieve the ball. I don't think he should go at the end of the season, he is a good player that hasn't had many chances or the luck this season
  25. wooooooooooooo It is so on!
