I'd rather see Alex partner JT for the moment, that pairing seems far less liable to silly mistakes! Not to say Luiz isn't a quality player, he just needs to cool down his approach, and learning from Alex, one of the most subdued players in our squad, is a good act for Luiz to follow!

Very highly doubt it. He knows he has the ability to start for us, I just hope he gets repaid. If Neymar goes ahead (which I sincerely hope it does!) And Ramires, arguably our best midfielder this season after a shaky start. And Lucas Piazon, who many have very high hopes for. But yeah, we're totally clueless.

The Brazilians we've bought are not your conventional Brazilians, Luiz is the only one who comes close, and even then he's still way off. If we were to sign Neymar, and add the already purchased Piazon into the mix, we could well have a Brazilian spine to our team. Hopefully we'll have an English contingent there too, with Bertrand/Cole at LB, Josh in midfield, Sturridge up front. Promising team we have setting up.

Alex has always been overlooked in the Brazil squad. He's only made 17 appearances for them, for a player of his quality, I think that's a scandal. David Luiz is GOING TO BE a great defender, but he has some way to go before he gets to Alex's level of security he gives us at the back. Plus he has one of the best long range free kicks around. I really don't understand why he gets snubbed so regularly. Must be gutting for the guy.

But see with that they're surely going to have major squad troubles? Tevez may be going in the summer, but in their attack they'll have to accomodate Balotelli/Dzeko/Silva/Johnson/Sanchez/Toure. Balotelli won't be happy (understatement) if he isn't played as a striker week in week out; they paid nearly £30million for Dzeko and I firmly believe he'll come insanely good next season; Silva is too good to drop; Johnson is also too good to drop if you ask me; Sanchez they'll have to pay quite a high price for him and I doubt he'll appreciate moving to Manchester to be constantly rotated in and out of the first team; Toure has been exceptional this season. Not to mention they'll have Adebayor and Bellamy returning at the end of the season (though granted I don't see them being there next season). I don't understand their methods.

He's an exceptional talent, but I've yet to see it in 4 months at Chelsea. For Liverpool he was regularly brilliant (when fit), but whether he's as complete a striker as Drogba or Crespo is another matter. I'm not sure whether he has the same vision to create as those two had. We'll see. I hope this summer + pre season he can gel into the team well and come out firing on all cylinders. What about you?

More of a complete forward than Drogba? That's my only argument. He really was an incredible signing for us.

Completely forgot about Stoch. I had very high hopes for that lad, after he played an incredibly vital role in our last 7 minute come back against Stoke under Scolari at the Bridge. I remember him coming on and being a fantastic outlet on the wing. Such a shame.

SkyBet have him at 5/4 to join us in the summer. I don't know much about betting outside 2/1, 10/1 etc, but 5/4 sounds like they're pretty confident he'll join!

I don't think we can afford to drop Alex either. His 45 against Manure and the other day against Newcastle proves that he's probably our best CB. I'm actually pro an Alex-Luiz partnership, I think they could be brilliant together, the brazilian connection, and that Alex is a no-holds-barred defender compared to Luiz's Carvalho-like approach. But I think Ivan has accepted him being a RB now, and one of the best in the league I might add.

I'm following Rooney aswell, and he's probably one of the most cringeworthy people on Twitter I've ever seen. "Tweeps". *shudders*
