  1. I disagree with the first point and don't think the second point applies, either. Women will always struggle to match men at physical activities, this is not an issue of gender politics, it's a matter of physical differences. Men are stronger and faster physically, so yes being bested by someone weaker than you (male or female) will be seen as embarrassing. That's why the competitions are separated. The difference with coaching and management of course is that's all mental and psychological strength, where women are more often than not superior. Gender equality should be about equal opportunities, not forcing equal achievement.
  2. Bloody women coming over here, taking our jobs.
  3. Roose Bolton is the rightful king. He warned the Starks about Walder Frey, but they didn't listen and he was just smart enough to ensure he was on the winning side. He plays games with everyone, but he plays to win.
  4. Sherwood doesn't like him. Which for me doesn't say anything about his ability either way.A Ramires who can pass and drive us forward with technical ability and not just the engine of an Olympian would sum up what we are after here, right? I haven't seen enough of him to comment on his ability, but if he fits and gives us something we need I'm in favour of it.
  5. I disagree with the premise. AVB's season was transitional in every sense, it was just seen that the changes being implemented were not improving the side in any way. Transition is transition, that doesn't mean it's positive or a bearable level of performance in the mean time. Ignoring that, transitional for me means that there is some big change being implemented, whether that's a big change in style or personnel. This season being called a transition is as much as anything an excuse for a lack of trophies, but there has been a big change of style.
  6. I think the Hound will die defending Arya and she'll mourn him and have a reconsidering her vengeance type moral lesson.
  7. Lord Boobmilk is the best. He's as insane as they get. I can see him demanding someone get killed at random and out of the blue.
  8. Terrific point. Let's never sign anyone with a good goal scoring record because Kezman didn't work out. Let's never sign a striker for £30m or more because Shevchenko and Torres didn't work out. Let's never sign anyone on a free because Mineiro, Ben Haim and Sidwell we're useless. Let's never sign anyone below the age of 20 because we will just loan them out and no good ever comes of it. Let's never sign a Brazilian because Oscar isn't playing well. Costa tar is proving himself in a side in the champions league final. He's showing himself to be the best striker in the Spanish League and is playing very well. None of this guarantees success, but it's never guaranteed no matter who you're signing. I like his movement and link up play as well as his ability to occupy more than one defender. Makes me think of the way that Eto'o improves us with movement and linking the play, but I think Costa is more clinical and stronger.
  9. I take the blame for this. I turned it off to watch game of thrones at 1-0.
  10. I'm liking the look of Colkett here. Reminds me a little of McEachran, with zippier passing. Spotting some great openings.
  11. I might get this quote painted on the ceiling above my bed.
  12. We've had a bad few days of our own. It helps a little. :D
  13. Tony Pulis has done a great job at Palace...
  14. I would run down the street singing the German national anthem if we signed him, but it's as likely as signing Messi/Ronaldo... even Modric would be more likely I feel.
  15. I get that you don't like him, but thinking purely of his abilities and his style of play he'd be perfect in that role alongside Matic. He's played it before in the Premiership as well, so no concerns there and would massively improve our squad. As for whether he'd join or not that's a different question, but realistically there are very few options out there who fit the bill as well. Him, Kroos, Pogba (not quite a playmaker and will cost us a ridiculous sum, but a big step up)... I can't think of too many.
  16. I don't think he'd start much if at all for Everton. A lower premiership side might even be too much right now. We've seen it with Josh...
  17. Heath Ledger.
  18. I think it's quite clear that he was pointing to the two parts of the compass for West and South, which from his point of view were M and S, because he knows it was Maggie Simpson.
  19. I heartily applaud your futile attempt to get us back on topic.
  20. I believe Zeta's tongue was quite firmly in his cheek.
  21. Really? Was I watching a different game to everyone else? He ran a lot and worked hard, but constantly left gaps which had PSG been on their game could have cost us. He's good alongside Matic in the big games, but needs someone sitting behind him, he's too erratic and lacks positional responsibility to be the holder. Next season I'd like to see us sign a centre mid. Luiz can play there, but we I think we could do with someone else as well.
  22. It was an immense effort and a great result, but I again found our central midfield to be lacking. I know we can't play Matic in the CL this season, but I keep getting the feeling we could really do with someone there. Cahill and Dace were the standouts for me. Luiz looked lost at times, but his work rate made up for it to an extent. We need an even bigger performance against our next opponents whoever they may be.
  23. The most sensible response you'll read on here today.
