Good Luck to the Young Blues who play Newcastle at St James Park tonight in the quarter final.

Let's hope we can continue our success of recent seasons but it won't be easy and if we do get past the bar-codes Arsenal await in a two-leg semi final.

Come on You Blues!

1-1 - the Newcastle equaliser a Maradonaesque punch into the goal which the ref missed!!

Outrageous. Hopefully justice will prevail and we'll go on to win.

Trailing 2-1 at half time - the second Newcastle goal a gift from Loftus-Cheek.

We are the better side but the handball goal has rocked them. Leaves a nasty taste when you see cheating like that at Youth level.

COME ON YOUNG CHELS!!!

Is this over 2 legs or straight knock out?

who were the stand out performers here?

Team played well as a whole but all of our attacking players, Brown, Solanke, Kiwomya and Boga were the pick. All made telling contributions. As the commentators mentioned, Boga tends to drift in and out of games - he may do nothing for 15/20 minutes but then he will take a defence apart. He is to the Youth team what Hazard is to the first - he just needs to get a bit more consistant.

I still have my concerns on Loftus-Cheek. He seems to have it all in his locker and he is a real physical speciman - looks so much bigger and stronger than those around him. But a bit like Mikel, he has the habit of coasting and switching off. Cost us one goal and then in the second half when the pressure was on he put us under more pressure by getting caught on the ball. But he's young and the coaches will no doubt look to iron these sort of errors out of his game.

Really? is he just back from injury or something or in bad form because i thought he was one of the best players.

I was surprised as well, but he didn't really seem to be involved in the U21 side lately and I don't really follow the U18's apart from the Youth Cup so I can't say anything about that.
