So...Next Season's Squad?
Here's what I would do: Out: Cech (sorry to say it), Salah, Moses, Mikel In: If he can be got for £40m or so, Varane, otherwise I'd leave the defence. Schneiderlin or Koke for CM, promote Loftus-Cheek. No Pogba for me. AM's are fine for now. Drogs to become a strikers’ coach and sign Icardi as our 3rd striker. I don't think Varane would happen, so the above could be done for a net spend of about £30m. There are plenty of other loanees that could be sold too if the net spend needs to come down further. The idea being to beef us up in midfield and upfront and to enable us to play 3 in midfield and 2 up front more in different formations as and when necessary.

Normally if it were Barca vs Bayern I would want the latter to win all day. But given that it’s Pep managing Bayern and they who now play Tiki Taka, I think I actually want Barca to win, even if they have that despicable c*nt Suarez in their side. Got to say I much prefer Barca’s current style of play to that with which they took over the world under Pep. There’s more energy and pace about them now, less focus on monopolising possession and stifling the opposition that way. Also, I feel like their play-acting antics have been curbed somewhat by Luis Enrique too.

Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 10/05/2015 KO: 16:00 GMT
That's pretty much what I was suggesting in my line-up a few pages back. Also I don't get this notion that winning the last 3 games lays down some kind of 'marker' for next season: The marker has already been laid, it was laid last Sunday, and it's spelt C-H-A-M-P-I-O-N-S.

Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 10/05/2015 KO: 16:00 GMT
With the title now done and dusted I really want to see what some of the youngsters can do for the rest of the season. I'm not saying that we should chuck half a team's worth of them in, but for me it would make a lot of sense to sprinkle in a couple whilst maintaining the core of our excellent first team. I'd also like to see a few of the squad players that haven't play much to get a runout. So with that thinking, this is what I would do: Cech Ivanovic Zouma Terry Luis Matic Loftus-Cheek Cuadrado Willian Hazard Remy I don't think Remy has got enough minutes this season so would like him to start. Didier has done a job when called upon but Remy deserves a chance. Again, Felipe Luis has been used sparingly at best and is an excellent defender and attacking full-back in his own right. I really like Willian as a no.10 and have always felt that he is most dangerous in that position rather than out wide, he was a real threat from the middle against Leicester. Cuadrado has been pants thus far and therefore needs games under his belt. Finally I'd like Solanke on the bench.

Chelsea v Crystal Palace (PL) 03/05/2015 KO: 13:30 GMT
Just finished reading through the thread since the moment the final whistle went yesterday. Loved reading everyone's reactions! What a day. Unfortunately I've never been there on the day when we clinched any of our other titles, so to be present on Sunday was just amazing. I managed to get a ticket in the Shed Lower where I rarely sit, and I must say the atmosphere was great. Pretty much non-stop, felt like an away game at times, especially in the concourse at HT. It was tough to watch at times in the 2nd half, unfortunately I'm a nervous, emotional wreck whenever we are playing, so as you can probably all imagine I was rather relieved at the final whistle! I noticed the sun unexpectedly started to shine in the second half too, quite fitting really for us. Had a good laugh as well after the game with the boys. A couple pints in White Horse on Parsons Green where we've been going for close to 20 years now, then up to the Finborough Arms for a good sing-song. Unfortunately we were forced to leave because the bar had literally been drunk dry! Not the first time it's happened with Chelsea either, might I add *Belushi's - Gare Du Nord* . Finally we managed to get a selfie with Chelsea's Player Liaison Officer on the King's Road haha! So all in all, a pretty unforgettable day. Can't wait to watch us lift the trophy in a couple of weeks time too. Get in there Chelsea! KTBFFH, One Step Beyond.

Agreed completely. Old school Arsenal are pretty decent IMO, it's the modern type that do my f*cking head in.

We Need To Talk About Frank
Frank is a Legend and will always be. I honestly think that in say, 5 years' time, we will look back on this whole Man City episode as a negligible blip on what has otherwise been a brilliant rapport between Frank and us fans.

RE: Spudulike - Agreed that there's not been much of a challenge, not in the second half of the season at least. Bear in mind that after the debacle WHL we were only ahead of Man City on goal difference. But since they have fallen away neither Arsenal nor United have challenged us much at all, they simply dropped too many points up til Christmas even though both have been in good to great form since the New Year. Next season will be very interesting. At this point I'd be inclined to say that Arsenal will be the greatest threat, providing they address a few key positions (GK, CB, DM and arguably a top quality CF). I then see United after them, they will spend big again but will need to do so more wisely than last summer. I still think they have quite a lot of work to do in order to build a sufficient squad to cope with all four competitions, and I'm not sure if one Summer will be enough. I may prove to be wrong on this but I personally don't see City as being that great of a threat to the title this next season. I can see 6/7 players leaving and therefore a similar number coming in, and generally after so much change in the transfer market it takes time for to develop a cohesive side. Just look at Spurs in the season after Bale went, or Chelsea after the CL win. Add to that their ageing, injury prone core of key players and they could really struggle next year. Again, this is pure speculation but it wouldn't surprise me to see them sell Yaya whilst he still has some residual market value. And who knows who the manager will be? So much uncertainty surrounding City for next season.

Official player of the year vote is open
Voted for JT. When the Goal of the Season vote goes live I reckon I'll go for Schurrle against Burnley. Nothing remotely boring about that one, by the way.

Leicester City v Chelsea (PL) 29/04/2015 KO: 19:45 GMT
Buzzing after last night. Great comeback in the 2nd half, some great football from the team. What a dogged, determined bunch we’ve got. Thought Willian as excellent, MOTM for me, and it was nice to see some intricate play from him, Fabregas and Hazard again – shades of earlier on in the season. I was particularly happy to see Cahill and JT combine for the decisive goal – both have been absolutely immense since the COC, and it seems quite fitting given the way we’ve played in recent weeks that those two should produce the winning goal. I’m quite outspoken about my criticism of Cahill, but as I said he hasn’t put a foot wrong for a few months now. Hopefully he can carry this on consistently. Can’t wait for Sunday, will be there in the Shed Lower. Really want us to finish the job and then sing this song all night! Ohhh…..

Zinedine Zidane reveals admiration for Eden Hazard
The club refused to give Robben the wages he was after and given his injury record were ultimately willing to let him go. I think with Eidur it was a mutual thing, but I'm not 100% sure to be honest, I don't remember exactly. But there was certainly no acrimony over his departure. All the rest were surplus to requirements for one reason or another, even if some us would have wanted certain players in that list to stay. Let's be honest here - yes, we are a big club now, but we don't have the clout of a Real Madrid or Barcelona. If one of our players was approached and made enough of a fuss then they would be allowed to leave. But Hazard doesn't want to go, he's said it enough times himself and there haven't been any reports from anybody suggesting otherwise.

Cuadrado - Chelsea's #23
There's clearly a more harmonious and co-operative system in place in terms of player acquisitions than there was beforehand; Roman has learnt from past mistakes. It's better that all parties consult each other on transfers, that way there can't be any bickering/fall out if a certain player doesn't work out. Cuadrado doesn't look good at the moment, he evidently needs time to adapt to the demands of PL and presumably is still also trying to acclimatise to English culture. Not everyone can just take off immediately like Diego Costa. Give Cuadrado a full pre season firstly, then let's see how he starts next season.

I also could not ultimately stand that stupid chant. I understood people singing it early on, I even joined in to an extent when things were bad, but even in April people were still singing it! Why!? As if further managerial turmoil was going to help! For me it got to a point where I neither supported nor abused him, I'd just accepted that sadly he was going to be there for the rest of the season and the best thing to do was to just get behind the 11 men on the pitch. There were good moments but when you compare them to similar good moments we've had this season, for example, there's no comparison really. Like you said though, adequate is a good word to use to describe the job that Benitez did overall.

Zinedine Zidane reveals admiration for Eden Hazard
I'm honestly not at all worried about this...for now. In 2 years' time it wouldn't surprise me if we sell him to RM for £100m or so. But all the 'noises' coming out of the papers and from the lad himself are that he's more than happy to be here and wants to elevate himself to the levels of Messi and Ronaldo at Chelsea.

Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2014-15
I barely went to any games that season. I f*cking hated it to be quite honest. I didn't look forward to any games, I simply dreaded them. Winning the Europa League was good but it was a mediocre season overall. I'm still annoyed we didn't win the COC or the CWC seeing as we were clearly the best team remaining in both competitions.

QPR bottom of the table, why am I not suprised?

The one we should have won?
There's no doubt that we royally f*cked that game up. Claudio's tinkering was something else, didn't we have Veron playing at RB or something? We were even 2-0 up at the Bridge IIRC but then Morientes put us to the sword. Mind you, I think Jose would have done a job on us in the final. He'd have found a way to exploit Claudio's tactical incompetence.

Premier League Team of the Year?
De Gea Clyne, Jose Fonte, JT, Azpi Schneiderlin, Matic Sanchez, Hazard Kane, Costa

The John Obi Mikel Goal Scoring Thread
Neither. I agree with you completely, Mikel has become surplus to requirements it would appear. He will surely be sold this Summer; it says a lot that Jose is using a 20 year old CB as his designated holding player rather than Mikel at the moment.

The one we should have won?
See this is what p*sses me off when non-Chelsea fans claim that we didn't deserve to win the thing in 2012. They claim that we got lucky to win it then, but how about all the abysmal luck we had beforehand? Liverpool twice, Moscow, Ovrebo - and we were the 'better' team in all of those games too. I used to shudder thinking about Moscow and what happened. Right after the game I must have chain smoked a whole 20-pack (gave up since). Thankfully we were already on our summer holidays from school, so I shut myself away from the world for about week. But given what happened in Munich, I feel like all the hurt of Moscow and what transpired in consecutive seasons was put right to a certain extent; thoughts of Moscow aren't anywhere near as harrowing any more!

Are our rivals about to catch or overtake us?
Why would you drop the number 1 goalkeeper for the most important game of the season thus far? Madness.

Oscar - Little Diamond
Happy to give Oscar one more season to prove himself. The talent is clearly there, but he needs to be more consistent and not disappear after Xmas. I'd also like to see him play a bit more aggressively in general, seems to be a bit too nice if you know what I mean?
