  1. I think if there was any inkling he could do that in the Premier League surely he would be signed by now. Scouse could sure use him, as well as a host of others (Everton, Spurs, Villa, Sutherland, etc.) would be jumping at the chance or so I would think? Didn't Coke just drop their sponsorship recently too?
  2. Sounds like he is trying to squeeze more cash out of the deal or perhaps ignite a bidding war with another larger club so they can cash in. I can't really say I blame him. These clubs need to survive and if that means holding out so be it... Question, I have is if we sign him and Oscar (who I admit knowing nothing about and am going off of others here saying he'll fill the gap where Modric would've played) are we to still sign Hulk? Would Jovetic for a few million more be a better option than Schurrle?
  3. I cannot believe this thread is still going the way it is. It's been cut-throat for over a month now... At this point I want the deal done or not done but at least have it officially announced so we can kill this thing. It's worse then the Neymar thread!
  4. Can't see this happening... Could've just offered Kalou a new contract. Much better all round player...
  5. Everyone has their opinions... Cheers!
  6. Would also work for deBruyne as well. Although not as good as Hazard
  7. Think you've had one few too many... I've opened the window shades, put my paint brush down, and stopped rolling the twenty sided dice in my Keeper of the Borderlands to respond to this total lack of respect! Bashing Rush and Iron Maiden in a single post? Are you insane? Comparing Rush to the White Stripes is insane. Sure they're both rock bands and play musical instruments but that's where it stops entirely. It's like comparing Real Madrid to Watford. They both field 11 men and kick a ball around on grass but really that's about it. Or a Ferrari to a Toyota, both have wheels and tires... You get my point. While I like all three bands very much, Rush is way more complicated playing. Maybe a bit too much but for them to get the sounds out they do with only three extremely talented musicians is mindblowing. Let's put it this way, give a boy a guitar and in a day he will be playing White Stripes but he most certainly will not be playing Rush. ...And as for Maiden, sure a bit childish with Eddie and they're album covers and posters, which littered my walls as a child, mind you. However do not let that cloud your judgement on how well they too play. Alright, its back to Vogons and Dallacks for me... "Exterminate"
  8. Didn't realize we were being graded? Feck me, perhaps I should carefully think grammatically before I post next time? To make this post not a complete waste of effort and time for you all to read... I would do this every single season if we achieve the results we did... For the record, I much rather we do it more easier and maybe win the Prem while we are at it!
  9. I always liked him personally and he played quite well for us. May have done a few too many crossovers or missed some golden opportunities but overall he had a good career with us and played a hand in many of our trophies! Never complained and was always ready to play when called upon! Wish you well Kalou! You still have a lot of years to play and I'm sure wherever you go, you will be successful! Just please don't sign for the Scouse!
  10. Well deserved and quite a display today/tonight! Arguably the best National Team since Brazil 1970 and even then... Glad to see Torres and Mata get on the score sheet tonight! Hope this will carry over this coming season... Nando's pass to Mata was fantastic! Both have FA and Champions League winners to their names and now the Euro! Quite a year! The Spanish team can surely play! Congrats! Now only if the economy can perform a third as well!
  11. Lol! What hogwash! No way anybody goes to Barca that we do not want to go! The end!
  12. Exactly... Whether he comes to Chelsea or goes off to United will mean a lot. Whichever club signs him, they will have the best midfield probably in the world. If its not us go to Madrid Luka! We do not want to see him in the tablecloth next year! They will dominate everyone!
  13. Wonderful! Apart from saying thank you to the creator of this video, simply "Wonderful"
  14. Ding, ding, ding... Mata, for me will become our Captain wearing the armband. Pure class, loves London, and after one year seems to be Chelsea through and through! By the time he is 30, we will be putting up with the greats!
  15. Burley, Gallas, and Mutu... I admit haven't been around a long time with the likes of some of you folk but since I began cheering the Blues in the mid 90's, these fux have been absolute...well you can fill in that blank! Outside of Chelsea, one of my most hated is Adriano! Fecking lazy sh*t!
  16. I agree! Wasn't too long ago the Spud supporters were on his case under Ramos or was it Harry who brought him in? I think he's a great talent but we do not need him. Much rather get Modric or somebody like him...
  17. Normally don't create threads but... I know AVB is a former manager and I am bit glad he is gone, considering our accomplishments after he was show the door to exit stage left. With that said, for a coach who's been successful for one season in Portugal, does he not seem quite overconfident? There were the Roma rumors and a friend who supports LFC claims that he actually did throw the pram from the crib about running their club the way he wants and is why they looked elsewhere (imo and the consensus of their supporters probably a good idea), plus the Sao Palo rumors how he turned down because he wants time to adjust the squad, and these on-off again rumors at Spurs! Who the feck does he think he is? The globe knows his man skills in management are shyte plus his tactics for Chelsea were no where near reading out strengths! Honestly, I think he truly believes he is another Jose and for me at least he's proven otherwise. If Spurs do sign him, I will be ecstatic because we know he cannot handle the London media and his management on and off the pitch are quite suspect... Not sure but in my line of work, if I grossly underperformed and didn't get along with my colleagues and was sacked, I would be a bit humble and certainly not demand the aggressive terms he seems to be demanding. Truth be told, I felt bad for the guy when sacked but whether he signs with Spurs or not, he's quite the overconfident c**t! Just glad the c**nt is gone... He needs to mature as a person before ever becoming a great coach. Sorry, do realize he is in our rearview mirror and has nothing to do with Chelsea any longer but just trying to see others opinions. Hope I don't get too much flack, just an observation!
  18. Only if Phil Collins makes the request will he give it up... And yes, I am indulging you for the minute. Stranger things have happened and as a Yank, I sure hope so... I pull for the Three Lions before the US team! BTW, anyone see on ESPN, Ballack's answer to the question about how the US played in Guatemala last week? Pretty funny!
  19. At one point in my life not so off in the distant, I could recite that entire first season... Genius! There's been a rape up there... Always get their attention!
  20. What? You mean to tell me that Warren Barton is not class? Guy does more interrupting and blabbering than a "blank" on a 2 day binder who just ran out of the white... I agree though, its gotten much better from the olden days when I think they were up in Canada but still needs a lot of work... The only thing I want to see out of Canada on TV is the Red Green show and Don Cherry and even Cherry has become a pansy-arse! Back in the day though, Cherry was great for Hockey Night! Apologies, wrong sport...
  21. Sure does, its how I got married... If you keep them close to the hip, they'll come around! Just look at Patty Hearst, she was a billionaire too! Apologies to the wife, just having some fun, honey...
  22. I have to agree here... We are becoming the squad that will make Torres flourish and I think he will. The play he demonstrated in the Spring and now in Spain, plus all his comments about he feels he is rejevenated, it be crazy to sell him.
  23. For me, Modric is the piece of the puzzle we are missing to dominate. Sure, it may take away from the defense but having him sit deep and getting the ball to Mata, Hazard, and Ramires/Marin would allow the back 4 to not take such a high line. They could sit back with occasional runs up the flanks and/or middle with Luiz... If we could get the ball mainly in the offensive side of the pitch, it'll take a lot off the backs. They could focus on doing what they do better than anyone, imo. Modric is that piece of the puzzle to do this. If not Modric, then maybe Sneijder, Pirlo, Bastian, or if Modric does go to Madrid, maybe we could land Alonso (although can't see Jose giving him up)... Somebody mentioned we need an engine and I completely agree... Having that, with the guys up top, plus our backline who could play a bit deeper and I can't see anyone beating us... All the "engine" options will be pricey but it seems RA is more committed now than when he first took over. Means, Meireles and Essien are both probably shipped out. Think we should hold on to Malouda though. He seems satisfied coming in as a sub and will not rock the boat. Next summer he will be gone but he will be useful this season. Next year, we have Josh and KDB come back from loan to settle in. By that time Super Frank will have another year towards retirement and will probably fill in a Giggs type (not position wise but more so as a elder statesman who will lead by example) ... Read in goal.com (I know probably rubbish) about Torres and Juventis... If true, we could put Danny up top where I think he will shine with the service he'd get... My take anyway...
  24. Caught them in New York at Giants Stadium (ok, its New Jersey but...) back in the Music For The Masses tour! Think it was '88, I was 15! Jesus and Mary Chain and Nitzer Ebb opened for them. Great show and to this day, my Catching Up With DM still finds its way on my turntable on a regular basis. Jesus and Mary Chain were my favorite back then but not sure who they pull for? Rangers maybe? They are Scottish! My other favorite band was a little outfit out of Slough called For Gone Conclusion, they once opened for a little outfit out of Scottland called Texas! David Brent was a God! "Free love on the free love highway..." Sorry that's twice I threw out an Office reference in this thread! Brilliant! Best show since Python and Fawlty! Wish us Yanks could be so brilliant!
