ethicalstrategy Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 The man's a fool. Super left back but sh*t for brains. Unfortunately that doesn't mark him out as anything special in the football world.
Backbiter Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 http://www.dailystar.co.uk/posts/view/142298/Ashley-Cole-receives-death-threats-after-England-shame Fans making death threats? Chelsea fans, obviously. No one else has ever done anything like that. Maybe it's some 12 year old with a keyboard somewhere.
Hutch Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 it's in the Star. and it's those well known "pals" again. the same nameless pals that rush to the press every time a famous acquaintance makes a remark that can conceivably be interpreted as contentious. because this is what friends do. and because everyone knows that every word ever printed in the press is nothing but gospel truth.
dkw Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I cant blame him, ifeel the same way sometimes. After the sh*t hes taken over the years (along with other england players) is it really any surprise when they dont perform for us. If I took the crap some of them did I would haev walked away and told them to shove their country up their f**king arse.
Cam Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 They're just trying to make him a pariah....they're cool like that.
Tim Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 Anyone else actually worried that Ash might up and leave this summer? He's just won the double, had a very public divorce and is sick of all the negative British press. If Real do come knocking and he has the chance to team up with Jose again and make a run at another league, I really wouldn't be surprised if he seriously considers it. Whether we let him go, is of course, another matter, but with player power being what it is, I doubt there's much we could do if he did decide to leave.

I am slighlty worried that he'll go, but i have no idea why he would want to work with Jose again.
Liam Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 They're just trying to make him a pariah....they're cool like that. Completely agree. Not only because of England but because Cheryl needs a bogeyman to make her look even better.
PloKoon13 Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 I'm feeling that this story is complete and utter bollocks. More nasty, vindictive lies from a 'newspaper' which isn't worth the air the ink takes up, let alone the paper it's printed on. We get the privilege of free speech, and this is how we choose to waste it. Absolutely pathetic.
RegRabid Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) I would hope that Ashley Cole has actually got some friends and not the ones made up by the Daily Star. If he has they should be advising that whilst the prospect of running away from it all when things are tough to make a fresh start is appealing, it is time like these when you need your friends and some familiar ground around you....plus the odd lap-dancer of course. Edited July 1, 2010 by RegRabid
Ruh Buh Juh Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 (edited) The Three Lions flop has become an even bigger hate figure after he posted the treacherous text message slamming his own countrymen. Right, so the fact he was England's best player in all 4 of their games at the WC means he's a flop? Typical journos. Edited July 2, 2010 by Ruh Buh Juh
bluegraham Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 THe media are scum. i hope cole stays but if he goes so be it,nobody is bigger then the club. but i really hope he stays

andy Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 Have to admit, I hate England and its people.............. present company accepted :D
TheWestwayWonder Posted July 2, 2010 Posted July 2, 2010 That is embarrassingly poor journalism. They use a quote do describe the general feelings of anti-cole fans? The phrase "a new low" is often overused but I think its appropriate here Anyone else actually worried that Ash might up and leave this summer? The stars are certainly alligning to make his transfer a decent possibility, the daily star's musings aside.

If this happens, I will cry for a long time, and then personally do the country a favour by burning down every redtop HQ in the country.
RegRabid Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 I'm trying to picture an ODD lap-dancer! Kinky! It has been a while since I posted this, I am trying to think whether I meant, odd as in "quirky", odd as in "occasionally", or odd as in asymmetric, i.e. one leg missing. :)

RegRabid Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 If these rumours do prove to have some foundation and we have to face life without Ashley C, is Yuri Zhirkov the man to fill his shoes or do we need a replacement?
loz Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 Personally I don't have a huge amount of faith in Zuri to be a consistent week in week out full back. However my gut feeling is that won't be an issue as I think Ashley will be with us next season.

However my gut feeling is that won't be an issue as I think Ashley will be with us next season. As do I. The thing I dont get with these rumours is surely if hes feeling vulnerable and disliked the best place for him is amongst friends and people who will have his back. Moving to Spain wont see him completely safe from the media, especially when he comes back for England games.
Virosh Posted July 4, 2010 Posted July 4, 2010 I suspect you meant an occasional encounter with a lap dancer, but I found the other interpretations more appealing - especially the asymmetric - one leg, three eyes, five bosoms etc etc ;) I suspect that, surrounded by the peace of rural France, you might have the urge to write a novel some day. Restrain it.
