Meireles seems to have good link with Torres and so does Mata.. Maybe a reason you may see if we start losing Meireles and Mata come off to bring on Drogba and Sturridge.

Cech: 7; Made some important stops in the first half and looked secure, could do nothing about the goal. Ivanovic: 8; Played a decent first half even though his crossing wasn't brilliant he still has a good attacking ability and took his finish brilliantly. Luiz: 7; Handled the game pretty well and only made one mistake in the 100th minute which was probably down to tiredness, he is learning to not take chances! Terry: 8; A captain's performance, made some quality challenges and took his finish brilliantly as well, unfortunate with his header going straight to Inler for there goal. Cole: 5; Do not rate Cole as much anymore, dosen't get forward much and when he does it's always a sidewards pass never exerts himself further and looks dangerous defending as well. Ramires: 7; Thought he gave the ball away a lot in the second half but his running ability is brilliant set Drogba up brilliantly for the first and also set up the fourth well he played it in to Drogba. Essien: 6; Not the player of old and he just seems to wander at times and looks very unfit however seemed to hold well. Lampard: 7; He isn't the big game changer of old however he is still there when you need him and took his penalty well, although his range of passing has changed going backwards or to the side and not forward. Mata: 5; I am a huge fan of Mata but I thought he was bullied, was sloppy in possesion and dosen't go in for many tackles either however he's allowed one game off for playing poorly! Sturridge: 7; Made some good runs and shows some silky skils within the game and troubled there keeper at times however substituted on 60th minute. Drogba: 9; The Drogba of old, bullied there defence, point blank header made my brilliant movement by him to get infront of the defender, back to his usual antics of going down easily but got us so many important free kicks and seemed like the player we had been missing upfront. Subs Bosingwa: 6; Was nervous when he came on and we seemed to lose a bit of communication in defence but done well enough. Malouda: 5; No idea why he still plays for Chelsea as he is slow and gets caught in possession far too much and then dosen't track back, played a great ball into Drogba tnough which he should of scored. Torres: 7; Ran his legs into the ground for 60 minutes and seemed to have a point to prove, he lightened up the fans and seemed to spur Drogba on as well with his performance. Unlucky with the miss could of done better but his overall movement was good with key passes as well. Improvement, just needs a goal.

Going to get mullered for this but probably Liverpool, I like them anyway being that my dad supports them also and think their passionate about their team as well which seems to evade a lot of are fans. That being said i'm glad Chelsea do exist because I love them!

Given the fact the majority of United fans are NOT from Manchester gives you the impression the majority are glory hunters.

What are your reasons for it? I've personally chosen Manchester United due to the household that I live in as my dad is a Liverpool fan therefore due to there rivalry it's kind of rubbed off on me. Also our loss in Moscow possibly made me dislike them more and there fans are usually just arrogant twats.

Lampard, Cole and others should be f**king ashamed of themselves. Worshipped the ground they walked on but what they done to this manager is a disgrace.

AVB is trying to change the style of our play and switching to a 4-2-3-1 may help if we bring in a quick winger or two, with Mata just behind the attacker in which i'd keep Torres!

Sorry about making another thread but this one really interests me, who would make your best 11 since the club was bought back in 2003, for me it would be: Cech Ferriera Terry Carvalho Cole Makelele Lampard Mata Robben Drogba J.Cole What I would give to see this team all on form at there peak! Thoughts?

For me it's possibly Terry or Lampard. Heart and soul of our football club! Opinions?

I look at it like this, if Torres had given the first half showing that Drogba did he would of been hauled off but we persisted with a player who even though i'm very sure we're all grateful for his past performances and being our beast of a centre forward, he just isn't good enough anymore, long past his peak. Torres NEEDS to start the next leg against Napoli in my opinion and put Drogba on the left with Mata behind Torres with Sturridge on the right. We can't blame AVB for individual defensive errors but we can blame him for a simply abysmal selection. Meireles, Bosingwa and Malouda should never be allowed to wear a Chelsea shirt again, they're poor cause more problems than there worth and Malouda dosen't even want to be there. Lampard, Essien and Ramires should have been our midfield.

But how many games did we try it for? Liverpool game where they set up a solid back 9! Then we played Tottenham where we played it and went in half time at 1-1 and this season we done it against Norwich and went in half time at 1-0 with eventually taking off Torres in the second half..

Saying he will come good is pointless because we cannot predict the future however our manager seems to persist with playing players such as Malouda, Meireles etc.. who simply have no creativity. I'd even go as far as saying as play Luiz and Ramires CM with Mata at CAM which is by far his favourite position. Play Sturridge on the right, Kalou or even Drogba on the left (if you see Drog whip a ball in it tends to be very difficult to deal with due to the dip and the flight of the ball) with Torres down the centre, thus getting the service from Mata that he needs.
