  1. Beause he hates him, obviously
  2. The sub was made to kill of the game. Hardly the first manager to utilize that tactic
  3. And therin lies the rub. Against teams that wont press and allows him time on the ball he isnt nearly good enough with the ball to warrant being played. Him and Kanté ist really a complimenting partnership, they offer much of the same. With that said Matic isnt the only one whos poor at keeping possesion when pressed. Plenty of blame to go around
  4. Some of the posts in here is just mind numbing stuff. I really hope some of you arent old enough to vote. Off course he looked leggy in the second half, he was chasing down players and sprinting after long balls all game together with Costa. What do people expect from him? That he gets the ball deep in our own half, dribbles past 4-5 players while running the entire length of the pitch to set up a scoring chance? We couldnt string together 3 passes before Fab came on. Do we actually think games would have ended with the same score without Hazard creating space and dictating play? Saying hes living off a purple patch? FFS get a grip
  5. I dont think we need more steel, but someone who can actually pass the ball. Cluld string together three passes in a row until Fab came on. Im not sure what people expect Haz and Costa to do when they are chasing shadows all came never receiving the ball in good positions. I lost track of the times Costa was chasing useless punts from out the back
  6. Hardly a surprise either, its been happening against every side that press us high up the pitch
  7. Hardky his fault, we cant keep the ball over the midfield. Hes been chasing pointless long balls the entire game
  8. Another team that presses us high and we cant seen to cope. Desperate for better passers at the back and in central midfield
  9. City, United, Spurs, Arsenal and us all got real easy draws
  10. The argument (let it be noted it is not my argument) is that our squad wasnt as bad as our table position last year would indicate, hence there was no need for a massive spending spree to get back into contention. So the notion that we had a poor window because we didnt strengthen enough is a faulty one as the signings we made were more then good enough to seriously challenge. Make sense?
  11. I dont think hes older then his listed age, problem with some of these African specimens is that they are fully developed physically by the time theyre 16 so they dont follow the typical career path of contuing development into their late 20s. Most of them are done physically by the time they hit 30
  12. Personally Im starting to get excited by Michy. You can see he has a ton of potential, hes just very raw. Fast, strong, good with both legs and has a great shot on him. You can see why conte doesnt trust him though, he is absolutely useless off the ball. Poor movement, no idea how to press and seems to constantly drift away from the action.
  13. I dont think Zouma at LCB is something we will ever see
  14. Dont want him, not a fan
  15. Liverpool look poor without Mané, any news on whether Firminio misses this one? They are in avsolute shambles atm, vouldnt ask for a better time to play them.
  16. January is rarely a good time to purchase reinforcements, you get a lot less value for money and top players are rarely available. Would be happy to wait untill summer
  17. While I dont agree with the rest of your post, this is spot on. A dynamic central midfielder would also help Kanté out a lot
  18. Thats like saying Moses finishing isnt quite at Costas Level. Nobody is expecting it to be, but theres a massive gap there and theres plenty of room for improvement. Fact is, when we play teams that press high, Matic and Kantè togethter will always put us under a lot of pressure.
  19. Desperately need someone to come in when Matic plays like this. Even Hull managed to press us high up the field which forced us to either punt the ball upfield or have Hazard/Pedro drop deep and try to tale om 2-3 men to get the ball into the opposition area. The dippers are going to have a field day if we dont sort it out. Id rather play Fabregas or even Chalobah then Matic when we go to Anfield.
  20. If we win both, its done in all but theory
  21. Really need a second here, dont want to give Hull a way in
  22. And thats usually the case. Swings and roundabouts as they say. There is no agenda here, premier league refs are just sh*te
