Greatly strengthened?!? More hyperbole.....and so it goes....

Last Movie You Watched
Looking forward but with some trepidation to seeing the re-make. The original of course was such a great british film.

What a coincidence. I too find that I doze off just a few minutes after watching Susannah York strut around in just a shirt & panties. I'm sure Billy Bragg does as well.

mmmmm.....surely you're not so obtuse to be able to recognize that what sergio meant by his choice of "superb" in the context is the club's and more probably the owner's rather classy attitude in dealing with this - an acceptance of a decade of great service that Cech has given us & that the timing was right for him to depart. Furthermore, they have recognized that players' families are just as if not more important than football. Surely they are right in that attitude are they not & especially so as a reward to just such a player as Cech. I for one want to be associated with a club that has such an attitude when it comes to respecting such a player's choices after such marvellous service. We should be & continue to be setting our own standard in respect to these matters & evincing a standard that does us proud. If you & others can't handle that then surely that is more a reflection on you is it not? To use Luiz as your example of "superb" business is hardly apposite & only reflects the transfer amount secured. True it is that it was a phenomenal amount of money to have received - almost farcical really - but it is very unhelpful to use that as a marker in respect to Cech. Further, to say, as you do, that we should've got 20 mill or so is ridiculous & equally hyperbolic on your part. We are Chels - we are classy - try to remember that in future.

Indeed. Immoral?!? Whilst loyalty may be considered a virtue depending upon the circumstances, equally, the absence of same does not in any way deem immorality.

You'll do nothing of the sort Mak. You're under contract. Sure - have a few weeks off but be back on here by 1 August. Or else.

Chelsea v Liverpool (PL) 10/05/2015 KO: 16:00 GMT
In retrospect I feel that I didn't go far enough.

Retain the PL or win the CL, which would you rather?
It's always the league & it will always be the league.

You're simply wrong. This is Liverpool. Modern history. We rest no-one & won't rest till we've beaten them. If you think the likes of Jose & Terry, Ivan etc. won't be up for this you've got rocks in your head. If Jose wants to "blood" the young-uns during the final two games then by all means but not for this. They always need to be dealt with and need to be put in their place.

Pre-season tour 2015- Chelsea to Sydney
So fellas - where/from whom do I buy tickets for this? Wish it was at the SFS but I'll be going nonetheless.

Yeah I saw it on video about 20 odd years ago. An ambitious attempt to film Matthiessen's complex novel & for the most part done very well albeit that it was always going to be a very difficult exercise. Well cast & shot & some of the acting is very good, some of it though is pretty hackneyed - Kathy Bates for example. The trouble, however, was that for most viewers it seems to me that it was always going to be compared and/or valued against The Mission. The latter is of course a classic film which should have easily won best picture at the 1987 Academy Awards but, of course, lost to Platoon (which is & always has been totally over-rated pulp) and, of course, Salvador was not even nominated by the Academy for best picture that year which is also scandalous. Anyway I digress: APITFOTL - a good film but thematically & otherwise, a much paler imitation of The Mission.

cheers milady....now that you've come this far...it's time for the main courses: first up, order a copy of Au Hasard Balthazar (Bresson) & The Wages of Fear (Clouzot). These are difficult & yet totally uplifting viewing experiences: both are in fact incomparable films & imo the two best french films ever made. But only if you're keen.

Any news on the concussion yet?

Willian
Cudos for the honesty - we could do with more of that round here.
-
Willian
Who has said that?
-
Cesc Fabregas
Very good piece - the writing is what we crave & rarely get & most of what he says is sharp. But......had it mentioned & dwelt on the assists so as to add the balance then it would have been more accurate and, of course, where is the comparison with Ozil. Simply not there is it? So on reflection it's very pretty, very accurate in parts, but overall - not very comprehensive is it?
-
Willian
For me he & JT were clearly our best players yesty & Willian just shaded Mr Dependable. Willian has come into his own the last 4 or 5 games & consistently showed us all what Jose sees him in. I get the feeling he must be very good on the training ground & he's clearly pretty adroit now with the tempo & speed of the league. That thru ball was an absolute pearl. And I feels his positioning during the games has improved markedly. So yeah - like Davy he's certainly grown on me.

Following Our Nearest and Dearest Rivals, 2014-15
Pellegrino must be comforted by the fact that they have a relatively easy run in - much more so than either L'Arse, Utd, Pool or us.
