I love Super Frank and appreciate all that he has done, and I think he should be kept on. Although I do get the feeling people would be less outraged about this if Robbie was still manager, and would also be less outraged if he'd already broken the scoring record. We shouldn't let other issues affect this one. If this season is his last, I can see the logic behind it and with KDB and likely a new midfielder coming in the summer, I think we can survive without him. This season it's been important to keep him because we've got a lot of new players, and the form with/without him this season speaks for itself, but next season the likes of Mazacar will be a year wiser, and we'll have a proper striker. I'll be sad if he goes but I don't agree with statements that we'll become the next arsenal.

I have no doubt that Sturridge has a lot of raw talent and could be a great EPL striker, but I think his selfishness and cockiness is going to prevent him from ever fulfilling that potential. Will probably be a 10 goal a season striker for Liverpool for a few seasons until they buy someone bigger and he moves to a midtable club like Stoke.

Perhaps FSW could just drop Torres back into the #10 role behind Ba and drop Mata

From what i've read Holtby sounds like a poor man's Oscar, who is struggling to hold his place in the Schalke team because there are two teenagers (Draxler & Meyer) who both promise to be far more talented. If so, would rather pick up one of the younger ones.

Depends where and how hes scoring, Torres is useless in games where we're struggling, if Ba scores 14 in 32 but they're in big games or match winning goals, then obviously he's contributing far more than Torres's hattrick in a 6-1 win.

I bought him on football manager, I can confirm he becomes a quality player in 5 years.

Our new Drogba in what way? What made Drogba so special was how consistently he rose to the big occasions, Ba hasn't really had a big occasion to rise to in his career yet (or at least not compared to a cup final). Only time will tell if Ba can be the hero that Drogba was.

I play 5th division football in the 3rd biggest city in Australia as a right back, i have two dodgy ankles and the tendons in my left leg are a ticking time bomb, and i'd still be a better striker than fernando bloody torres.

Always nice to see a player that's truly had to fight to get to where he is now, if he shows that same attitude on the pitch, it will be a far cry from our sulky Spaniard.

Ba will start imo because its a Cup game, which gives Rafa an excuse to leave Torres out and say he's resting him for the league. If it was a league game i'd say Torres.

Really? Johnson and Diarra went on to become really good players for later clubs, both of whom we could use now (maybe not so much Johnson now as we have Dave, but the last few years certainly.)

Torres and Mutu would be a country mile ahead of the rest, with the likes of Sheva, Kezman, Crespo, SWP, Veron, and whatever other overpriced garbage we've wasted money on.

Is this guy having a laugh? I can remember Frank having one shot all game yesterday, and it went in but then was ruled out for offside. Clearly just trying to provoke people and make a name for himself, blaming Jose for Joe Cole not reaching his potential, I suppose he should be blamed for Robben going on to play for RM and Bayern too?
