Guardiola wants Chelsea job ...
At £18m a year no manager or player is worth that much, I'll be happy to see him elsewhere.

Roman to offload up to 10 players at the end of the season
I've never been so sure about Baines and other than completely disagreeing with your views on Lamps and Cole, I don't see how spending £17m on a 28yr old that can't get ahead of Cole in the England setup is a worthwhile purchase when Cole has a couple of good years left in him.

Protest
Not to mention City had the clueless muppet Hughes for two years, we had Claudio and Jose.

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
That's bollocks (not that Torres would say that) I remember watching games where his team mates (esp. Frank) would pass on good opportunities just to give Torres the chance of breaking his duck, he was given every opportunity to make a go of it and fit in at the club from what I saw at match days.

Roman to offload up to 10 players at the end of the season
Essien is on £100k benayoun and Malouda are both on £80k if memory serves, lamps £160k and Cole £120k. I'd like to see Cole get a two year extension and Lamps one on £60k, recall Lukaku and maybe another £15-20m striker. Think the only thing missing this season has been a centre mid to dictate play between defence and attack and the strike force. Not much is needed to turn things around but there is certainly plenty to trim from the wage bill.

Roman to offload up to 10 players at the end of the season
I can't see Marin going, makes little sense. As for the ten, Malouda, Benayoun, Essien and Paulo I think are givens, I'm not sure who we would have as cover if we let both turnbull and hilaro go, Kakuta is never going to make it into the squad so it's probably best if he was sold on. I certainly hope we keep Ash and Lamps.

Lukaku - Play or Loan?
Looked awesome tonight on MOTD

Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
I don't agree with Torres' professional existence, but then a I don't agree with booing our own players at the ground, the booing creates a negative atmosphere that effects the whole team, I pay to turn up to watch that team, not put them off. The booing of Chelsea players has no place at the bridge, no matter how sh*t they are.

Lukaku - Play or Loan?
Why go for Falcoa in the summer? If we have two strikers capable of bagging 15+ premier league goals a season and Torres I don't think spending that money is worthwhile. I'd rather see Lukaku get given the chance to become a 20+ goal a season striker than buy one for £45m.

Lukaku - Play or Loan?
Apparently Lukaku has been outstanding today, think he needs to be in the team next season, deserves a shot at a regular first team place.

Fan unrest - media reporting
I'd say that article is probably rather accurate. The clubs a mess at the moment.

Isn't dicky Attenborough a directors, we should keep him.

Wake up Chelsea
£191m is about right, maybe a little excessive, it includes more than playing staff.

I have wondered myself if the CPO vote was the point in which it became them and us.

I fully expect Torres to start the away leg.

Chelsea v Swansea (COC SF 1st Leg) 09/01/13 KO 19:45 GMT
The team was a decent one, but there is more to being a manager than just putting names on a sheet. We have subs for reasons other than just making swaps after 70 minutes.

Chelsea v Swansea (COC SF 1st Leg) 09/01/13 KO 19:45 GMT
I don't like seeing us lose, but seeing as the club is the cause of its own demise I find myself struggling to care.

Chelsea FC make a profit!
£19m loss, not bad for a club that sacked two managers in that period. Not that any of that means a jot, all they have highlighted there are perfectly normal accounting practices you'd find on the books of dozens of clubs. As for this year, the super cup and CWC are both fairly profitable, TV revenue will be up, wages are heading down.

Do any of you worry what would happen in the future without Abramovich's ownership?
I see companies bought and sold for a lot more than £600m that have less assets and revenue than Chelsea. Our earning potential is astronomical if we develop a new stadium and can offset most of the costs with a redevelopment of the land at the Bridge. The Bin Dippers cost their owner £300m three years ago and then needed £150m of investment to move up the eighth.

As with any 'share' there value represents that of the asset, not the purchase price. Chelsea certainly isn't worth the £900m Roman has put into the club, maybe £600m but that price will improve/reduce depending on several factors, certainly a redeveloped Bridge/New Stadium would increase its worth considerably, so to would have healthier end of year accounts/new TV deal. A lot depends on the clubs success, but it is also worth noting the way Chelsea's debt has been handled. It has been written off for Chelsea PLC by the holding company Chelsea Limited, which is itself part of a investment group. No doubt a lot of Chelsea limited 'losses' have offset taxes payable elsewhere. My guess, if Roman sold Chelsea for £600m he wouldn't be to out of pocket.

No, and more to the point, without the sackings and some of the transfers (you know the ones) the club would have been self financing already. We have the squad and youth/players on loan to remain competitive for some time.
