JT interview Sky Sports

Featured Replies

Was that a Celtic top with Terry on the back of it?

Overall a great interview, and he does seem decent and down to earth, it's amazing that he still thinks about the penalty miss in Moscow that many times a day, but I suppose if that is what he needs to spur himself on, then go for it

Scott

I wonder how many people believed him when he said he never considered going to man citeh

I was watching espn soccernet presspass a couple weeks ago and frank lebouf (who is a regular on the show) was talking about how JT told him during the whole saga that there was no way that he was going to leave the club and it was just the club telling him to keep quiet.

Surely that would be a Yeovil top? As in the club his brother, Paul Terry, used to play for? ;)

Great interview. His house isn't too bad either. I'd quite like to see a full tour, like in MTV Cribs or something.

I'm not sure, as I'm not him, to suggest that I know what really happened would be utterly foolish.

Oh and Sals - don't bring your facts and what ex-players have confirmed etc into this, it's far better to stick to the media's version of events.

exactly gem, i mean why listen to the man himself, his friends and ex team mates when you can get the 100% truth from the sun.

You beat me to it. Here he is, Paul Terry in Yeovil green & white:

JT get's a testamonial in a couple of years as part of his renegotiated deal, anyone think that's fair.

With the amount they currently earn, I think testamonials should become a thing of the past.

why exactly? the top players niow use a testamonial as a charity event, and i would be surprised if Terry doesnt also. it isnt only about money, its about praising a player for his commitment to one club, something that doesnt really happen all that often nowadays.

made me chuckle that, I'm sure there is a word/term for this.

I just don't think a player who has earns over a years salary of the avarage fan per week, over 10 years needs another pay-day. It was all well and good when the player was likeley to become a black cab driver at the end of his playing career, but the likes of JT hardly need the pay-day.

If it goes to charity, all well and good, but I can only think of Nial Quinn, off the top of my head, who has donated the lot to charity!

how do we know it wont go to charity, ill be very surprised if it doesnt. and its not all about the money now, its also a chance for the club and fans to celebrate a player giving 10 excellent years to a club.

Tautology?

How do we know it will go to charity? Has a charity testamonial been mentioned? No it hasn't, just a testamonial for John Terry, no mention of where the proceeds will go, your assuming all of it will go to charity. I'm not.

I agree about the celebration part of the 10 years etc...... perhaps he should make it free admission with charity buckets on the door? I doubt that will happen though.

I dont see why player should receive one after such a well paid career, it's not financially justifiable IMHO.
