Takes me back to the summer of 1981. Great song. No 1 in July 1981 for 3 weeks.

Although initial reviews of the single in the UK music press were lukewarm, by the end of the year the song had won over the critics to be named "Single of the Year" in Melody Maker, NME and Sounds, the UK's top three weekly music magazines at the time.

 

Saw Dizzy Gillespie at Ronnie Scott's Club in the early eighties. A great concert.

I went to the music 'museum' in Coventry a couple of years ago and sat in that very car!

There is no middle ground with me and Bob. There are tracks that i think are brilliant and there are others, nah, this is sh*t. I don't recall hearing Mozambique before but i really liked it. Same album as Hurricane - Desire. Came out in '75, I think.
