I thought it was close between Cole and Ivan, but I thought the work Cole did defensively, saving some poor work from the other defenders was good enough to get my vote.

I voted Ivanovic as well, with A. Cole a fairly close second. No one in our midfield impressed me.

Good point. He played a very quiet game, which means he defended very well. He had a nice shot on goal via that free kick in the first half as well.

Ivan by a country mile. He was excellent, do we expect anything les from him nowadays?!

Ashley had his best game in a while, Lamps was okay-ish.

I voted for Ivanovic. He had a good very good game this evening and was key in getting the pen that Lampard converted.

Surprised to see Ivanovic leading the poll. He had plenty of possession but did very little with it. The three players who stood out for me were Mikel, Ballack and Anelka, although he disappeared in the second half. Malouda and Borini did well when they came on and Joey looked lively (at least by comparison with Deco).

Borini for me the lad done/showed more in twenty minutes than Kalou has in 3 years. I hope the competition on De Santo's return for third striker will push both of them on.
