Roberto Martinez & Co - HA! F*ck you!

Featured Replies

Before I start my usual picture thread, I wanted to start this post. Ever since we won against Liverpool all I've heard/read is Roberto Martinez harping on how he is going to end our title hopes. So, I present some wonderful quotes from the arsehole himself and hope you will all join me in laughing at this prick and his team.

---

"We have beaten Chelsea once this season plus Arsenal and Liverpool, so we know we are capable of giving any team a game on our day.

"The mood in the dressing room is that the players are all up for it. They are ready for one final push and have a belief they can make it difficult for Chelsea.

"Football is all about dreams and it is a fantastic dream to have, that you can decide who wins the league."

- Roberto Martinez, The Sun, 4th May 2010

---

"Can we go there and be party-poopers? We certainly hope we can do just that.

But we'll have a good week leading up to it and give it a right good go on Sunday. We want to finish strongly, get a real good end to the season and carry it over into next year."

- Gary Caldwell (the twat who got sent off), The Sun, 5th May 2010

---

"Chelsea look like being the champions but we didn't just beat them here, we absolutely battered them."

- Dave Whelan, The Sun, 5th May 2010

---

"But now it's getting harder, they know now when they turn up and play against us we can compete with them."

- Mario Melchiot, The Sun, 6th May 2010 (okay so he's the one non-arsehole, but its still quoteable)

---

"For my players to be able to look back and be proud of their performance at Stamford Bridge is as good as a medal.

That is the way we are going to approach it. For our football club to perform well when the whole football world is watching is going to give us special memories and that is what you play football for.

It is about showing what we have learned this season and how we have defied the odds. Everyone expects Chelsea to turn up and win. But, for us, it is more than a football game.

Games like this is where the dreams of the future should lie.

We have a very young squad but they are arrogant in the right manner and on the day we can beat anyone."

- Roberto Martinez, The Sun, 7th May 2010

---

"There is also a belief in the dressing room that on our day we can perform well against anyone.

Have no doubt, we're not just going there to go through the motions. The players are playing for a lot, some of their careers are at stake. It is a unique opportunity to create great memories."

- Roberto Martinez, The Sun, 7th May 2010

HA! Okay, so not that extreme as I remember reading at the time... but still... F*CK OF!! HA HA HA!!! ::ChElSeaFLag:::penqUIn:

I lost a lot of respect for Martinez. He should have kept his latin mouth shut.

Credit to Tony Pulis for not saying anything like that prior to the Manure match.

f**k off, Martinez, you greasy dago.

"Chelsea look like being the champions but we didn't just beat them here, we absolutely battered them."

- Dave Whelan, The Sun, 5th May 2010

I think we got our revenge.

All a bit harsh, and a little close to the knuckle.

What was the guy supposed to say "we will simply turn up, play our usual dire footbal, bend over so they can spank us on the arse, then go home"

Steady Phillip. Tell him to f**k off by all means but easy on the rest please.

I don't see what he's done wrong, if we'd tonked them 8-0 and he hadn't said anything before everyone would be saying that they never cared. As it is he said what Wigan fans, players etc wanted maybe even needed to hear and they were still tonked at the hands of the Champions.

I think he's done a decent job this season and have no problem with suggesting the the build up to the game that his team will try to beat us.

The whelan one was idiotic. Way to fire our team up before the match, and since when was a 3-1 result decided late a "battering". I hope Dave Whelan sees what a battering is now.

As for the rest, I'm with midland blue. They have to talk big or else people will accuse them of capitulating. Maybe Roberto Martinez shouldved talked less about the game and concentrated more (not that any of us mind, of course)

I think Martinez had his tactics spot on to be honest. But then the ref blew the whistle to start the game and it all went downhill from there.

i don't see anything too wrong with what he said either. having already lost 9-1 at tottenham this season, wigan were literally on a hiding to nothing. from Gem's first post in this thread:

HA! Okay, so not that extreme as I remember reading at the time

and i know exactly what she means. it's the way the media were bigging up wigan and even more, man u's faint hopes of retaining the premiership that made martinez's comments appear far more extreme and anti-chelsea than they actually were.

Thank you Stride, it seems everyone else neglected to read that part of my post - I put it in there for that reason. I had that post made up long before our game (the night before anyway) - so I just posted it. As both you and I both say - all his talk seemed worse at the time; before the game... looking back, as others have said, he hasn't said much wrong.

Is that explanation okay for everyone?

midlandblue - perhaps it was close to the knuckle, but I've seen plenty on here (including from myself) much worse.

No explanation needed Gem,

I will add though that Martinez and some of his players said a lot of things but they never really had much choice, I don't suppose they've ever been asked so many times by so many reporters to come out and say their team could beat anyone, let alone the best team in the country.

Pulis and the stoke team never had the Pap at their side 24 hours a day asking if they were going to be well up for it at Old Trafford but Martinez and co must have started to think they'd found celebrity status overnight and probobly got carried away.

Still glad the boys rammed the words (if a lot of them were their words) down their throats and more so down the throats of the biased reporters.

Aye, well put ::clap2::

compare his situation before the game...he could say anything because the beat us at home.

the thing I could not understand was the red-faced numb drunk Harry Redknappy said on behalf of Manyoo/fergie: "pressure is on Chelsea!" .... straight after he played almost all his players off-positioned at old trafford to lose 3:1 with 2 bleeding penalties.

he is a fergies' puppy and there is another one: big fat mouth Sam, who was also licking fergie last season by irritating rafa.

clegg brown cameroon.... sh*ty staff in the prem!

disgusting!

I agree that it was the general pro-united media spin more than what he actually said. He was just doing his job, giving his fans something to get excited about, not to mention his players and they've done well beating us, Arsenal and Liverpool this season. But as usual the media will take anything they can get to massage Fergies ego and stop the evil blue empire.

Doesn't matter though, as usual we spoke with action and gave the media an 8-0 tonking and a trophy to think about. ::ChELSeAFaN::

Were you watching the game on sunday Dave Whelan? If what happened at DW was battering am sure your vocabulary would fall short of describing on what happened at the bridge. You'll always be as good as your pitch at DW ::ChELSeAFaN::

I was refering to Phillips comment rather than your good self when I mentioned close to the knuckle
