Fans - is there a difference?

Featured Replies

When Rooney handed in his transfer request - I read RedCafe all day. When Torres handed in his - I read RAWK all day. When Tevez handed in his - I read Bluemoon a bit... not as much as the former two.

Now, I know JT didnt hand in a transfer request, but we had pages and pages on the subject of him "wanting" to leave.

From memory... our reaction was no where near as deluded and suicidal as the Mancs and Scum's rantings. Is it me, or do they just come from a completely different planet? There were death threats to Rooney, and one Liverpool fans compared losing Torres to that of a death of a parent. Were we ever that extreme?? Would we be?? There will always be the odd few, but on Redcafe & RAWK - a good 95% have turned to anger, threats and worse. Is it because we don't feel "owed" as such? Like "we're Liverpool FC how dare he want to leave" or "we're Manchester f*cking United, anywhere else will be down hill".

Perhaps it would have been different if JT had actually submitted a transfer request, instead it was all paper talk.

Thoughts? I just get the impression Liverpool & Man Utd feel they have a divine right to keep hold of their players just because who they are - a shallow and pathetic existence. The fact that RAWK closed threads when fans were posting twitter updates from journo's and the "SSN understands" - but allowed them for the Charlie Adams thread, shows me they're a blinkered paranoid lot who simply won't hear anything they don't want to.

This bloke is just begging to have the piss ripped out of him:

Torres Should Be Given Two Choices: Honour Your Contract Or Rot In The Resereves

hehe I liked that bit:

"Liverpool FC is not just any club and we are not just any clubs supporters. First and foremost, letting Torres go to Chelsea would effectively be sending a message that we are no longer a force and we can be muscled into selling our players. It would be sending a message to Chelsea and the rest of the world that Liverpool are well and truly a spent force."

:laugh2: :laugh2:

When Dave Sexton sold Peter Osgood it caused a hell of a lot of anger amongst the fans at the Bridge, and eventually f*cked up our team. But we didn't over-react like the scousers or mancs, they're really just a bunch of deluded, self-obsessed drama queens.

But also in those days it wasn't considered manly to blub and whinge. Anger yes, but not snivelling cry baby stuff like we're seeing at Poo.

Just about everyone on RAWK is an idiot

Outrgaeous that they see fit to ban/ censor discussion of the Torres story, but still allow death threats against our players to remain on their forums.

I love the way they are slagging us off for going in with a low transfer fee, yet on the same site are praising Liverpool for going in with a low transfer fee for Adam as thats the best way to do it. Bloody hypocrites

Have they started burning things yet?

Its Liverpool, have they ever actually stopped burning things?

Dish of the day - rat brûlé?

Well obviously I meant Torres jersey's. It'd be odd if they had been burning them previously.

Just on that anyone got the pics of the Gerrard jersey burning from back in the day?

I've also red RAWK forum during the past couple of seasons and they come across as the most self-rightious, pathetic and deluded hypocrites there is. It's just so f**king redicules but they somehow see themselves as the most passionate and special football fans in this world. Although the boo's at Anfield last season and this season has been far louder than their "You'll Never waank Alone". Now their golden boy Torres wants away because he's had enough of the boo's from the self-proclaimed best supporters in the world and fighting for a 12th place in the league and they turn on him. Are they really that f**king thick?? Some of the funniest comments I've ever read on a football forum was at RAWK this fall when they wanted Roy out and Rafa back. I actually prayed for Rafa's comeback at Anfield once they had sacked Hodgson, but unfortunately it was never to be.

not that much difference...............plenty vitriol when gallas went to arse wasn't there

if one of our best 3 players was nudging towards joining a 'rival' and the press were spinning stuff......................then our fans to would be making daft statements too - imagine the noise levels if josh was going to the arse

having said that, the scouse in particular are living in the past on old glories and still think they have a right to keep top players, but they have patchy squad and look mid-table bound for few years at least. fernando wants to win some trophies and play in the CL and he aint doing that at anfield is he

They really are unreal . No sniff of a title for 20 years no Champions league football this year or next and would really struggle the season after .

When are they going to wise up that they are a spent force and only a top 6 team at best from now on in

The bottom line is that up here in the north west where I am born and raised, a high percentage of fans of Liverpool, United and even City take football way too seriously. It seems that some of these people have huge voids in their lives that are only filled by obssesing about the affairs of the worlds thickest millionaires. Personaly I love my club and I enjoy the game of football but I worry a lot more about my gas bill than I do about who's wearing a blue shirt.

But I understand their rage. I mean, how could a 20 odd year old Spaniard possibly fail to realise that the 'history' of Liverpool FC means that there is nowhere to go from there? This is the club thats fans sing You'll Never Walk Alone while the British sports broadcasters suspend their inane commentaries to listen. They are the greatest club in the history of game (as long as you deny that football exisited before the 60's).

I'm not convinced that it is wise spending 40million quid on him but pehaps it is is worth it just to see the reaction of those commie thiefs if we do!

The same can be said with every club, but an interesting point none the less!

I don't think I'd react like that... I'd be gutted but definitely not THAT spoiled.

I still doubt we will get Torres, but I do hope we do, even if he turns out to be a waste of money, just to see the scousers' reaction.
