Speculation:

Sky Sports sources understand Chelsea have made a bid to sign defender Alvaro Pereira from manager Andre Villas-Boas' former club Porto.

Rumours from Italy saying Juve have bid for Malouda and were willing to let him go. Maybe this is why Pereira is being brought in.

I'd rather Malouda move to a club like Juventus than another team in the EPL....

He's a frustrating player, who's very capable of doing enough right to win games for the team.

But he said last season he wants to stay here till the end of the 2013/14 season...till the next world cup. And that's not the right way forward for the club. In a lot of ways, if he left it would be a big loss, because as I said, he has a knack of scoring important goals, but he's probably not the way forward.

That said, I wouldn't place too much faith in that rumour at this stage.

Wouldnt Mata take his place in the team anyway. I think if we can offload Flo now then we should do.

dm?! we got mikel, romeu, essien can play there so can luiz, even ramires . . . why on earth would we need another dm?

Why do we need a RB? Were well covered in that position!

Perhaps AVB isnt happy with the players in that position we have. It happens everytime a new manager comes in, he will have players at the club he doesnt want to keep, players that just dont fit into his style of play.

with people asking why we need a dm i dont know if romeou is ready or not yet mikel is rubbish essien if he returns at his best hes better box to box david luiz is a center back.. if romeou is ready ill be glad im basing it on he only got one barca game because thiago got alot more game time.. Sorted at right back bosingwa is a great attacking outlet but isnt safe defensivley and is injury prone ferrairers past his best even though i really like him and avb seems to want to play ivanovic at center back right back is far from alright dm might be but im less sure.. another reason romeou isnt our savior is if he plays well then barca will resign him for nothing.. With the price for M'Villa reported as 12-15 mil i would go for him hes much more needed than perraira

It would make a lot more sense to loan him to Newcastle, where he has been before and where he would be fighting with nobody as opposed to Leighton Baines for a place in the first XI.

That would be a great move. Everton's squad is thin, and they are skint as a club, so PVA would probably wind up getting alot of minutes. Im sure Moyes would rest Baines for cup games, too.

Unless he's going to be played higher up the pitch, cup games is all he'll get. I would kind of like to see how he does as a winger though. And Moyes isn't really averse to such thinking looking at Coleman last season.

I may be mistaken but didn't he get some minutes on loan last year higher up the pitch? I would be all for him being tested in that capacity, Bertrand seems like the more solid defender anyways.

17m for Alex + Kalou seems fair to me.

Letting Alex go to Arsenal gives me headaches but then again they just lost Fabregas and Nasri, they surely arent going to be able to win the EPL anytime soon.

It's just been confirmed on Sky that Arsenal have had a bid for Gary Cahill rejected, so they're definitely attempting to strengthen at the back.
