The ones I recognise. Back Harris, Hinton, Bonetti, McCreadie. Middle, Tambling, Cooke, Hateley. Front Houseman, Hudson. Any advances without Googling .

Johnny Boyle and Joe Fascione are the middle two at the front and Joe Kirkup extreme left at the back (I think).

What a day, watching those cup finals during the 70's and 80's on TV as a youngster, then to be there and watching us win on a hot sunny day was just how you imagined it would be if not better! "When wise went up"

Was a great day at Wembley. The atmosphere was brilliant. So good to a win a trophy after so many years. And the first of many in a 20 year period.

Remember getting home from the game that night and watching the whole game back on the tv with some beers, the atmosphere was brilliant, remember a huge 10 men went to mo in the second half and then after eddie got the second the whole end started singing "we shall not be moved" at first a few people starting saying shush as it was chelsea and we were bound to f**k it up, but then they realised it was our moment and the celebrations began, 20 years ago wow.

Went to a pub near the Bridge after the game and a great atmosphere there. The rendition of we shall not be moved was brilliant.

Was that Danny's first signing as manager?

Sorry,could not resist...

Not a great time, but I was still optimistic every pre season back then.

This would be our year.

The innocence of being a young fan.

He put in some service that groundsman; I remember watching a Saint and Greavesie some time in the mid 80s.

Jimmy was having a laugh and a joke about old times with him- he came across as a bit of a character I remember

No ticket for that one alas. A load of us watched it in the now defunct Woodman on Battersea High St, then crossed the river for the festivities on the Kings Rd after.

One thing i recall was that pretty everyone, be it CFC fans or resident Sloane Rangers, were celebrating together down the whole length of the KR- Posh birds drinking champagne straight out the bottle, cars honking their horns etc etc.

We ended up staying the night at some strangers in South Kensington.

Jim Thomson looks like Eddie Mac's brother!

Does anybody remember the time when Bonetti would go up for a high ball, then bring it down behind his head. It looked 'flash' at the time but I was terrified he would make a f**k up, which he did eventually. Didn't see it that manoevre again after that.

Couldn't get a ticket either well not for ridiculous money and watched it in my local and got legless. We all dragged ourselves to the parade where I thought the piss up and singing in the pubs was the best one ever even better than 2005 or after Munich.

Image result for stamford bridge in the seventies

when i was young my dad used to take me to the Bridge and nearly always transferred to the benches, it was great because being a little fella it was easier to see over the adults heads.

I think the transfer was 50p seemed like a lot of money then but i wasnt paying !

Correct it was 50p to get in via the shed.... Only used to go in there if my girlfriend now wife insisted she wanted to come to the match. Used to ruin my Saturday afternoon lol.

I had the same situation. Back around 86/87, girlfriend at the time insisted on coming to some games. First time we went in the Shed against Liverpool and she was getting knocked all over the place so I thought best go to the benches in future. A couple of games were fine, then we had West Ham and it all kicked off where we were and in the West Stand and she was crying and some old fella had a bit of a go at me for bringing a young (17/18) girl to such a game - wasn't as if I wanted her there FFS!!

15p in 1981! One old boy used to collect the money, the amount who used to walk past if he was giving change was unbelievable!

A brief view of Stamford Bridge at the beginning of this clip.

Very interesting clip that. I wasn't aware of this Peter Sellers film. My old man used to work at the Nine Elms railway depot before they cleared it all and built the New Covent Garden Market there in 1974.
