programme cover for Chelsea v Cambridge United, Saturday, 15th Jan 1983

Sat 15th Jan 1983.  We beat Cambridge Utd 6-0 at The Bridge.

Our scorers:Joey Jones 40th, Mike Fillery 44th and 60th, John Bumstead 63rd, Murray (O.G) 65th  and Alan Mayes 80th mins respectively.

A crowd of 7,808  saw it.

Just an idea and if other posters disagree than fair enough but is it possible to have a seperate thread for these programme covers. I've not posted a lot recently because I think posters aren't seeing good pictures because of the daily programme covers. By the way I was at this game !.

Always nice to remind ourselves any time we beat Leeds Utd.

Sat 16th Jan 1937 and a 4 - 0 win in FA Cup 3rd Rd at The Bridge.

Our scorers: Argue 4th, Spence 5th, 75th Mills 60th mins.,  A crowd of  34,859 saw it.

We also beat them home and away in the league that season.

Okay, so this was almost 30 years before the rivalry started.

From the game against Sheffield United in 1994. The last day of the old Shed. The guy just left of centre is wearing a Rangers jacket.

Funny I don’t remember it raining that day. I do recall Scorpion Dry Cider being heavily advertised on hoardings, because one of our lot who spewed up on cider the night before kept getting flashbacks

That's bizarre, though a few old fans of both clubs I believe meet at Sutton FC each year for a friendly watching the older players still turning out.

Didn't think I'd ever say this, but I quite like that red kit, must be our badge, as I normally hate teams in red

Anyone who’s got the Bolton programme will have a rare item. It was the first game of the famous ban that never worked!

Blimey can remember that cover, I use to collect programmes for a while and remember sending away for a bundle where you didn't know which programmes were coming, and that was my first Chelsea one, later that season I started going to the bridge.
