We were the first club in Britain to average over 40,000 in a season. And despite what the Scousers sing, we won the title, the league cup and a European trophy before they ever did.
January 10, 20206 yr I've puzzled over the black and white photo for ages, it was titled " baseball at Stamford Bridge ". Could it have been taken from the old East stand ? Still not sure about it though , any ideas ?

True, I wind any Liverpool fans up who say we have no history, by saying that they didn't exist before Bill Shankly arrived. Or asking them who Billy Liddell was !

January 10, 20206 yr Am I right in thinking that the old East Stand, and the Johnny Haynes Stand at Fulham were identical?

The old East Stand and the Jonny Haynes Fulham Stand at Fulham were both built by Archibald Leitch. They and a good many others built at around the same time, were if not identical. then very similar in design.

January 10, 20206 yr When the “ new” East Stand was built some wag wrote to the club along the lines of “ Love the stand. There is however a major design flaw. It’s facing the pitch”
January 10, 20206 yr Loving this ground thread ,i never twigged the links between our old East stand and the stand at Fulham but the pictures above really show how similar they are.

January 10, 20206 yr Seeing the picture of the horse and cart posted by Erskblue reminded me of this: Not sure when the picture was taken. We played Notts county in 1908,1909, 1913 and 1914. Judging by the style of clothes it could be any of those years.
January 10, 20206 yr Following on from the horse theme. I know that this picture has been posted before
