A mate of mine hated Kevin Wilson no idea why don't think I ever heard the crowd chant his name and he was a decent player. He scored the winning goal for Derby that started all the seat throwing in 83 and I always thought he looked like this guy.

He was actually quite good for us at times in the early 90s. 

And when he was not good would cathc myslef thinking Bloody Kevin Wilson only then realising that was the name of some famous comedian.

That fastest booking ever was straight from kick off weren't it. We had a few hard cases in that team, Cascarino, Wise, Peter Nicholas...

Peter Nicholas had left by then but he was pivotal in our promotion. Just us buying someone like Delle Ali when you are in a relegation dogfight is such a bad move by Lampard buying Peter Nicholas and Graham Roberts was exactly the type of players we needed after getting relegated.  Mind you Roberts got found out badly and hardly played for us again after we got caned 5-2 by Liverpool in 89. I was in the East Lower that day first time I really noticed movement on and off the ball we were top 3 at the time I might be wrong but we got a reality check that day. 

The game is on Youtube I won't post it but Alan Dickens was playing so no wonder we were outclassed.🤣

As an aside I remember coming out of the Old Den and walking through the back streets with loads of other fans and we saw Peter Nicholas getting into his car, a begrudging chant of, 'one Peter Nicholas' struck up.

I found it rather bizarre that a player would park close to an opposition ground and especially one like Millwall. 

On Lampard they need goals to stay up. Dele Alli might yet provide a few as Gordon has a decent cross and of course depends on Dele's frame of mind or appetite.

Mate of mine works on the estate in White City where Dennis Wise was brought up absolutely mental family cousins, uncles all of them. I posted on another topic about the Birmingham players of the early 80's Howard Gayle, Mick Harford, Mark Dennis, Tony Coton, Noel Blake, Mark Dennis, Pat Van Den Hauwe were legendary on and off the pitch some football thugs started on them in the pub they were pleading with the governor to ring the police a couple of minutes later they really started on the wrong blokes.🤣

Another hard man was briefly at Chelsea I might have the programme announcing his signing. Says Chelsea was the worse time of his career.

Think scousers were 2 up after about 10 mins, didn’t we lose 5-2 to Wimbledon as well at home around same time?

We did Wisey scored for them and again I was in the East Lower and cause there were so few Wombles there you could hear him shouting yes and celebrating.

Yep Wimbledon was 89-90, we lost 5-2 to them at home and lost 5-2 Liverpool at home a few weeks later.

I remember Beasant getting stick from sections of the Shed.

Thanks Peckham Blue, I stand corrected - you are quite right.  Don’t know if you are living in Peckham but I lived in Woolwich during those wonderful days 83-86, used to make it back to the KIng’s Arms for a few after watching John Neal’s fantastic team.

A few years back me and some of the guys I go to the games with had shirts with this badge made up. We'll have to wear them for one of the games this season. So if you see a group of punters wearing the shirts one of them could be me.
