October 30, 20223 yr Apologies if both of these pictures have already been posted. The League Magazine on Twitter.
October 31, 20223 yr Thought I'd post these in one batch although there might be a few more they are Carlisle 83, I went to a good few away games that season don't know anyone who went to this. Wednesday 81 good numbers in the Leppings Lane. Against Southampton 85 and Bolton 83 although I don't know if they are Chelsea fans in the picture.

Was at the game at Upton Park and standing behind the goal and had a great view of Pat's goal. A great header after a cross from Kerry. Spackman scored our over goal in the 2-1 win..

I was at Carlisle in the seats, long journey on the special going up due to having to travel on a freight line part of the way! Also remember a bloke wearing a chef hat falling over the edge of the stand to the ground below! It was certainly a boring game.
November 1, 20223 yr Bolton picture is their fans in the paddock and our fans above in the seats! I was on the terrace getting soaked, managed to get a good view by climbing onto the floodlight pylon. I was 14 at the time, happy days!

Fair play to you Carlisle in the Winter pretty sure although you were in the seats the away end was open memories of Oldham and Cardiff come flooding back like Siberia those two.
November 2, 20223 yr Last day of the old shed first of the news three years to build a 6,000 stand is pretty bad. I know the club where in financial trouble as always and Bates was concentrating on the hotel but even still.

Was in the Leppings Lane September 82, not as many there as in that picture. Went on my own by National Express Coaches -the mate I was supposed to go with got hospitalised with alcoholic poisoning. Weird coming home; the coach was packed and I got lumbered next to Wayne Sleep's boyfriend for 4 hours, who randomly asked me if I knew anyone he could buy opium from...

A couple of days after the match someone told me about the punch up between Walker and Speedie.

November 4, 20223 yr Sure nearly everyone on this section saw Quadrophenia either when it came out or one of the first films they took out on video some good British films from that era also The Long Good Friday, The Life of Brian, Scum, McVicar etc. And I'm sure we all had terrible first jobs like Jimmy I did in a carpet warehouse so we can all identify with '' You know what you can do with your high teeth and franking machine you can stick em up your tight arse''😆
November 4, 20223 yr Another one bites the dust. Got to admit I was never in there very rarely drink round the ground now although there is hardly anywhere left ! https://twitter.com/susanmgahey/status/1588414280973619201/photo/1

A shame if it shuts down.
November 4, 20223 yr There was an iconic picture in one of the programmes of Greenaway and his cronies having a celebration bevvy with bates after 84 promotion outside The Black Bull.

Many happy times pre-match in the Black Bull, a particular favourite was home to Leeds 88 or 89, the match we won 1-0 with Johnny B scoring. The Leeds coaches came past and the BB emptied to give them a warm welcome; one geezer who wanted to make his point climbed up on a window sill and had to be held in place by has mates while he was giving it large to the coaches. Epic.
