Not seen this picture before. Not many filled that part of the North terrace. Any info of pic?

Found the picture on Facebook. Only info given is that it's from 1984. Annoying that it's in black and white as may be able to tell the opposition from colours. Will post if I find any more info.

No one brought big numbers 83/84 I think Leeds were put further over, then they smashed the scoreboard at the end of the game. Can’t remember how pens West Ham filled when we played early 84/85

Chelsea v Leeds: Chelsea fans await the final whistle and to begin celebrations on gaining promotion to the First Division. Chelsea fans

Richard P. This is Hugh Hastings photo from the Leeds game of 28th April 1984.
Nobody shown in the terracing section as you rightfully pointed out. Hope this photo helps.

Posted the picture on a Facebook page and have had a few answers and most stated that it was later due to the "Millwall type" badge on the East Stand; Commodore being the sponsor from 87-93 and the police box between the East Stand and North Stand so not going in until 1991.

We certainly weren't playing QPR. Far too many supporters in the away end!

I think it's a good bit earlier than 83/84.

The Umbro advertising hoardings a giveaway.

I'd go Spurs 78/79, then again the little family terrace bit next to the East Stand- not sure whether that's operational in that pic which it would have been then?

For the Barnsley game in 84 it was nigh on a full house, and they didn't bring many, so we must have had the pen next to Gate 13 because they would have kept the away fans apart.

But that doesn't explain Umbro who stopped kitting us out in 81/82....

That family section with the yellow barriers { which is no longer in that pic} was definately going for the Spurs and Liverpool 82 Cup games...I give up

Think that this has been posted before.

May be an image of outdoors

I posted it before and the one of the Shed above as regarding the year it definitely isn't Spurs 78 I was at that game and what we used to call the old man standing is where that portacabin is. So it has to be between 87 and 94 and it's hard to say who exactly we are playing but my guess was going to be Sheffield United 1992 the portacabin is there but the East Lower has a few empty seats as seen on Youtube I was in the West Stand sat near David Baddiel. There's ads for Sanyo in this clip  interestingly there's an ad for Northern Rock on the East Lower whatever happened to them !!😆. If you pause it at 18 seconds the people presumably old bill are in shot as they are in the picture.

I think it must be Sheffield Wed Lge cup semi final, was a lunch time Sunday game and they were put over that side to get plenty of us in the North stand end. Around 1991-92

It's definitely not that I was in the East Stand that day and it wasn't as packed as that picture. That was a pretty gloomy day weather wise and result think it was the first game I'd been to the Bridge on a Sunday.

That was the match where Vinny Jones got the fastest booking if FA Cup history at that time, he did very well not to retaliate late in the match with his arms behind his back as a United player was trying to knock him out.

Seeing Porterfield there reminds me of the stand-off after one of the matches up north where disgruntled fans were complaining about Cundy being sold.

To his credit he came out of the bus and said, 'he understands why fans are upset yet to trust them as they had to sell Cundy and we would soon realise that.'

Great picture we need more of this pictures we haven't seen before. As for the year I would guess the way the bloke on the right is dressed between 79 and 81 although guy on the left is dressed like every suburban dad of the 70's 😁

Only thing to celebrate was 83/84 championship. Remember those flat vented cardboard hats that open out!

only other thing it could be is the pre season pen day.

The card with Tommy Langley on were out of those packets with a strip of bubble gum in, in the 70’s weren’t they?
