Phil Priest was a red head, so it might be him. Could be John Millar.
May 24, 20233 yr Looking forward to seeing the 83/84 squad on Saturday night. Should be a great night, looking forward to stories from players and supporters.

Take a few pictures and post them if you can Richard would loved to have gone myself can't make it unfortunately. If someone offered me a ticket for Saturday night or Sunday's game I know which one I'd pick.

I would have loved to be able to get there but can’t - please give a shout out to Joey Jones if he is there - I felt he really ‘got’ us, the clenched fist salute in front of Gate 13 or wherever we were away from home when he ran out lives in my memory. Can’t see any of the current lot with that sort of attitude. Hope it’s a great night.
May 25, 20233 yr I’ve been told 14 of the squad confirmed and Uncle Ken is a surprise that I know about!! Will make sure I take plenty of pictures and Videos

It got a bit rundown in later years I actually ran there on school sports day ! There and the Tooting Bec running track . Jesus , now I feel old !

Saw athletics there as a kid- the three A’s, plus Coca Cola meeting which drew track stars from across the world. Shame it’s gone to pot now. Btw in one of Martin Kings books he talks about a “ friendly” played there between us and Arsenal in 71. Double winners v CWC winners. By his account we took a bit of a slap. Ive Googled this game and can’t find any mention.

There was even a motor racing circuit there at one time too.. I haven't heard about that game you refer to , I'm sure one of our amazing regulars would be able to find it !

We played Crystal Palace at ‘The Crystal Palace National Sports Centre’ in a Pre Season Friendly in aid of ‘The National Sports Development Fund.’on 28th July 1969. A crowd of 8,000 saw us win 2-0. Bobby Tambling and John Hollins were our goal scorers. Found this info when looking on www.bounder.friardale.co.uk Can’t find any mention of the Arsenal game though!
