I enjoyed that and the halftime break.

Even when we pulled it back to 2-3 near the end I think we all knew that it wouldn't be our day.

A couple of years ago someone asked me " if I said "who's that up a tree " what would you reply? Like a flash I said......😜

I would love to answer that ….

Gordon Davies and Keith Jones with QPR’s Gary Bannister on the plastic at Loftus Road, Boxing Day ‘84, a 2-2 draw, both of our goals were penalties from King Kerry.  An 1130am ko as were all our other London away matches that season.

John Hollins and Alan Hudson shake hands before kick off, Stoke City v Chelsea, in, I think, 1974.  Hudson had moved from Chelsea to Stoke not long before.  I’m guessing Chopper was injured ? - a rarity, and why are we wearing white shorts, dig the sox though.

Typical Chelsea cock up . The club backed Sexton when he fell out with Osgood and Hudson and sold them both . Then sacked Sexton early ( I think) the next season.

I believe Ossie's fee was a  British record. Bout £200,000 and a bit to Saints

Found this information on that strip v Stoke on Sunday 27th January 1974. The first English League Match played on a Sunday.

‘Nik Yeomans has discovered that Chelsea wore white shorts and black socks with blue and white turnovers at Stoke, Leeds and West Ham in 1973-74. The same strip was worn the following season in two League Cup ties against Stoke.’

‘Further research by Nik has revealed these programme notes from February 1974: The reason we wore white shorts...at Leeds last Saturday was ...a stocking clash! ‘

‘Because Leeds wear white stockings we changed to black (with coloured top) and as it was felt that a strip of blue shirts, blue socks and black stockings would look too dark, we opted for white shorts. ‘

‘Later that season yellow socks were worn when there was a clash.’

Hope this helps.

I remember that either us or Leeds had to change socks before KO at the Bridge. And I'm almost certain it happened the next season.  I'll see if there's anything on line

Just thinking back on the songs that were sung when he got caught having it away with Mary Brown. Incredibly bad taste considering he’d been a very instrumental manager of ours only ten years or so previous

At the game v Leeds at home in April 84, we won 5-0 in case anyone did’nt know …. I was told that Leeds wore our away yellow socks as the ref said that as we were wearing white sox they had to change.  Does that sound right?

It looks like Dirty Leeds are wearing our home socks ! Their own home socks were white with a single blue and yellow band at the top.

Perhaps they forgot to bring their own socks ??😀
