McCreadie playing in the forward line? That was the previous game against Leeds, when it all went pear shaped, and we lost 7-0 away. Suart took over temporarily from the 'Doc', until Dave Sexton came in permanently. We actually finished sixth that season.

I have been amazed at the bits of Chelsea footage I have been able to find on youtube.

I was also at the Makita Tournament at Highbury.  It was a couple of months after the World Cup final where Brazil beat Italy. There were a load of Napoli fans in the East Stand at Highbury and some of us started chanting Brazil, Brazil. The Napoli fans weren't happy.

I can't remember which year it was but again was in the North Bank - after it had become all-seating - and we scored and I stood up and started celebrating. A few dirty looks from those around me.

Anyone remember the time probably mid 90s when we had a couple of hundred in the East Lower seats at Highbury.

It was during the all ticket era- went there on a whim sniffing for a ticket- was directed to a bookies on Gillespie Rd I think which was full of touts.

Remember looking for somewhere to have a drink and hopefully catch up with some mates ( pre mobile days). Walked into the Gunners Pub; soon as I entered I heard “ Oh North London, is full of sh*t”

There was more Chelsea than Arsenal in there but it didn’t kick off.

No idea what the score was but we no doubt lost- never saw us win there till the league cup game in 98/99

This was the one I remember, and I was in the Arsenal seats and we had Chelsea in the North Bank. There were so many Chelsea in the seats we were standing up singing and we took the lead through Dixon though lost 3-2.

An Arsenal mate who was in North bank that day, said on the following Monday that we looked mighty impressive in their seats taking the piss, couldn't of imagined them doing the same in Gate 13 or the benches back in the day!

A mob of them did venture into the West Stand Seats circa 86- A known Chelsea face whose dead now was knocking them over like skittles.

When we played them at home 84/85- it was a freezing day and the game shouldn’t have been played- the ball was bouncing around off a rock hard pitch ( Bates had covered the pitch with straw the previous week and bits of it were blowing around during the game)

Before the game we were mulling around the Fulham Rd - noticed half a dozen teenage black lads hanging around- ( obviously Arsenal). Standing next to us was an older geezer who was about 20 stone and was eating a burger he’d bought from one of those trolleys.

He either got fed up with eating it or made a point by throwing half of it at the feet of the black lads and pulling a face. 

They trundled off......

Forgot we beat Arsenal back then, always liked Peacock and recall the season we did the double over Utd where he scored both winners. 

Furlong was a disappointment had some skill though it never clicked for him.

Forgot about Myers until seeing that and nice to see he had some pace.

@erskblue  Re the Sunderland match, totally forgot Paul Parker played for us.

Pre season 96, we were in a 2 day tournament at Forest, along with Man Utd & Ajax ( I think?). I went up there on the 1st day ( Sat ), 1st game kicked off lunch time, 2nd one nigh on straight after. Tried to get in the TBI for a pre match beer, but they wouldn't let us in.
Man U had few thousand there, all in the opp end to the Trent, where Forest obviously were. We were put in the lower section opp the side the teams come out, reckon we had around 1,000 there.
Ajax had a Band amongst their fans in the upper stand where we were, who were quite entertaining with their music.
As for the games, think Forest beat Ajax, & we drew 0-0 with Man U (?).
Seem to recall that we won our sunday game, & the other game was drawn, & we won the Tournament?. Not 100% certain, as many brain cells have diminished since then.
Do remember chatting to 'Chelsea Bob' ( still has his scarf/ shirt/ souvenir stall outside Fulham Broadway side exit ) who was in one of the side streets leading to the ground, selling his 'wares'. ( we go back to 78 at Benfleet ).
Anyone else on here go that weekend??

That's the sort of footballer you can aspire to be, by continually practicing until you become equally adept with both feet. I drum it into the kids I coach, until they're so sick of my voice, they do it to shut me up.
