I was at that game horrible day in a terrible season. The wooden fencing was pre hooligan days not sure what year it was changed.

I had a lacoste one it's like most things back then bought in the winter not worn in the summer and completely forgot about

That would have been a pricey coat. £100.00 + in 1984 I’m guessing?

Can't remember exactly but it wasn't cheap. Did you do the labels from 88 C17, Chipie, Champion etc was a little cheaper as I recall can't remember the names of the shops one in Tottenham Court Road one in Soho sold a lot of that gear. Then from about 90 I used to shop in Mash in Oxford Street for all the ravey gear. I had looking back a hideous duffel coat that thankfully no one ever took a photo of unlike my mate who's wearing a Harry Potter type in a photo that his kids take great joy in showing and posting.

Similar path. Couple of Chipie jumpers in 87. Chevignon were pretty big for a while. Browns in South Molton St, Hyper Hyper Kensington Market, Woodhouse.

The Kings Rd was still good 80s through to early 90s. The Armand Basi, Boy, and Daniel James T- Shirt Shop, The Bluebird Garage, American Classics for Hawaiian and bowling shirts.

My younger brother and his mates ( all Chelsea boys), used to have part time jobs in a lot of these places and get paid in clothes. One of them is now a director at Paul Smiths.

Still love deciding what to wear to football and posing around.

That £100 was an absolute  fortune back then.

Still is today !

What would that £100 be in real terms today ?

Yes, that's the whole thing about going to football, choosing what gear to wear, me and my two lads 22 and 24 are already plotting what to wear to Wembley next week, some clubs fans wear funny curly wigs, face paints and replica shirts, thankfully the majority of our support doesn't turn up looking like they've just been to the club shop

Funny how we get stuck in our ways. My youngest ( 33 ) & me going as well, a lot depends on the Weather. For me probably be Nike or NB trainers ( thick soles, keep my old feet warm! ), pair of Levi's,  La Coste jumper ( over a thermal long sleeved t-shirt ) & prob a 3/4 length leather coat, as reckon once the evening sets in, will be too cold for wearing one of my Harringtons!.
As for my son, what do 33 year olds know about fashion!!!!. ( I'm nearly 62, still got 2 pairs of Royal Brogues! ).

You sound very well dressed, at present I'm going in my barber coat, Fred Perry jumper, Ralph Loren polo and white leather gum sole gazelles, if the weather is as mild as it has been might go all 80's casual and dig out my fila vintage polo and Sergio tachini track top, what ever we wear we will definitely be wearing a Chelsea pin badge
