It was a school night and I was getting over a cold. My mates came round for me and after some wheedling with my mum, she agreed. It was a good game .Charlton got our first with a rocket that skipped up on front of Bonetti and went in the corner. John Hollins scored for Chelsea. As I remember, Chelsea took quite a few to the game considering it was a night match and a League Cup tie. The game highlights used to be on YT but I think the club has even monetized our history now and I can't find it.

The one where Best lays it off and Charlton rockets it from about 20 yards ? There's a grainy old copy that pops up sometimes.

Chelsea forwards Jackie Crawford (left), Hughie Gallacher (centre) and Andy Wilson Imagine this trio turning up at your door. More like bailiffs — or worse — than the Chelsea forward line, Jackie Crawford, Hughie Gallacher and Andy Wilson carried more than a goal threat when they posed like this. It was 1931, in West London as well as Chicago, Al Capone was in vogue. These three look like they are on their way to, or on the way back from, a hit. Two, Crawford and Gallacher, are smoking, because that was what you did. The other, Wilson, has one glove on, not because he had returned from somewhere he did not wish to leave fingerprints, rather Wilson had fought in the First World War and received a gunshot injury to his lower left arm at Arras. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5244615/A-shot-time-Defences-scared-Hughie-Gallacher.html
