Just watching that video reminded me how surreal it was to have Shevchenko, one of the all time great strikers, was playing for Chelsea. Kind of similar to Torres at the moment. Let's hope the latter doesn't end up like the former!

I know thats the feeling i got watchin it, i was in awe of him.. that outisde of the foot finish wow and the spuds goal wow!

then i remebered with the upmost respect he was really poor here.

Classy goals from a classy guy.

It still annoys me to this day the way the media, in particular the knob-heads on Match of the Day used to slag him off, taking great joy in saying that his legs had gone etc.

Always liked him. Really is a shame it didn't work out but there's no denying he is a great striker. Came to the Prem at the wrong age if you ask me.

I always thought it was a combination of him playing in an international tournament with an injury in the summer before he came, and not really being used correctly by Jose (maybe through Jose being a bit stubborn?). Was a real shame he never made it here.

I agree with that totally, I was gutted with the way Mourinho played him, and even more so when Sheva left the club. Kind of a similar situation with Torres under Ancelotti.

With any luck, Guus can sort that out before it's too late :)

Always felt sorry for sheva, it was pretty clear that mourinho didnt want him and did very little to accommodate him into the team.

Love his first goal for us (second on the video) in the charidee shield - lamps playing a lovely ball over the top for sheva to run onto. Thats how we need to play more often now for torres.

All we can do is irejoice in the fact he once graced the famous blue shirt, and trod the hallowed ground called SB,also at the very peak of his powers,no one would of prised him away from AC milan

I actually think that Sheva did alright for us, given that we didn't really do much to get the best out of him. The expectations of him were unrealistically high given his price tag and reputation. His goals to games ratio wasn't too much worse than Anelka's has been the last couple of seasons.

Would still take him over Torres.

Agree 100%. I also felt sorry for Sheva. When Roman bought him and Ballack, Sheva was treated like the red headed stepchild from day one. He could have been a Chelsea legend.

Thanks Sheva.

The title of that vid says something about Sheva's best goals while playing for Chelsea. I could be wrong, but I think those were his ONLY goals that he scored when playing for us. Must say that he scored some crackers.

Yeah, he didn't score often (like 9 times in almost 50 games), but the ones he scored were really nice.

Not sure where you got that from, he didnt score anywhere near 22 goals for us.

According to his Wikipidia page, Sheva scored 9 for us in 47 appearances and 17 for Dynamo Kiev in

39. Add the two together and you get 26 from 86. Which isn't vastly different to 22 from 76.

I thought we were only talking about when he played for us?

We were/are but I was offering a suggestion for BlueSkies "22 in 76 appearances". I can't think how else he could have come up with a figure like that.
