Posted January 6, 201213 yr Been reading the news this morning. Apparently Ganso's agent is in London to talk to Spurs in a proposed 15m move. Don't be believe hes in London to speak with Spurs. Possibly meeting chelsea reps?
January 6, 201213 yr Ganso for 15 M ??? Spurs can dream or Is it chelsea losing out another bargain buy ?
January 6, 201213 yr God, it would be farcical if we let Spurs sign Ganso....especially for 15mil He's brilliant. Edit: I should point out, I don't expect them to Edited January 6, 201213 yr by Cam

January 6, 201213 yr I'm not even that big a fan of Ganso (his injuries are a massive red flag for me) but for a paltry sum of 15 mil? I'd have to think there are quite a few more prestigious teams that'd jump at the chance to gamble 15 mil on his health.

January 6, 201213 yr I think it's bollox. Ganso, when he moves, will be worth more than 15m, and there'll be better clubs than Spurs in the running. I think his stock fell a bit recently. He had looked a top prospect before the injury sidelined him for months and I thought he struggled a bit after comeback. Still, Ganso is a top talent and very young. I'd love for us to go after someone like him even though his playing style is more suited to Serie A, imo.
January 6, 201213 yr No way Santos let him go for 15 million. Not after the price tag they put on Neymar. Ganso is the other jewel in their crown.
January 6, 201213 yr Ganso would be a good signing for us, He has had his injury problems but he has been playing very well since he returned in early November. There is no doubting his talent and ability. The pass is his main weapon. If we are looking for a creative attacking midfielder with great vision and accuracy to put in defense spiting passed to the feat of Torres or Drogba. Ganso is your man. He is not the quickest but has great touch and skill. I could just see him linking up with Torres like he links up with Neymar. Ganso is a big part of the reason why Neymar has scored 85 goals for Santos. Edited January 6, 201213 yr by BrazilBlue
June 2, 201213 yr Could this be anything? I'm not sure we need him but it's very close to a shirt we will all recognise http://a0.twimg.com/profile_images/1399323560/AVATAR_TWITTER_PHGANSO_.jpg Just bare in mind this is his profile picture on his verified twitter account. What other reason could he have for wearing this as its nothing like brazil or santos' shirts Edited June 2, 201213 yr by Martin_plumb
June 2, 201213 yr Wouldn't read anything into that mate, for example even the torch relay stuff, a lot of it was Chelsea blue with Samsung on it - just seems to be Samsung's colour of choice
June 2, 201213 yr Where on Earth would he play??? Think before you write that we need him. Actually we don't need him and it take a quick look at our squad to realize that. I haven't seen much from the lad apart from a 3-4 of internationals in which he looked average. What is your assessment that he is worth more than 15m based on!? He is just another talent in the Brazilian league. Plenty of those, some are a lot cheaper, too. 15m sounds right to me for a player that hasn't played in Europe and is nothing exceptional (comparing him as a talent with Neymar is laughable, with Aguero even more so - he was already proven in La Liga long before City bid for him). Don't think anyone compared his talent with Neymar, just the fact that Ganso provides many goals for Neymar in the tandem they have at Santos.'Just another talent in the Brazilian League' that alone is a farcical statement. It's easy to dismiss the Brazilian League but it's quite strong nowadays (deceptively so, as many may laugh at it) and as for Ganso as a player, he's amazing and given how transfer fees are going around these days £15m is a bargain for him
June 2, 201213 yr Would you say the Brazilian league is stronger than the Portugese league, seeing as though you said one reason we shouldnt sign Hulk is because he stands out in a poor league.

Once at best? 15m is not a bad price. It is a good price for him, but that's about it - saying he is worth more based on him playing against defenders in the Brazilian league is an odd statement as being good against that anarchy out there doesn't prove anything. Some people doubt Neymar's abaility even though he bags 2-3 goals every game for the same reason. Unless I see Ganso break down good defences at international level (i.e. Italy, Spain, Germany, etc) I can't possibly judge him as being woth more than 15m. But we don't need him as a player anyway with so much talent down the middle. Some other teams may do.
June 2, 201213 yr Would you say the Brazilian league is stronger than the Portugese league, seeing as though you said one reason we shouldnt sign Hulk is because he stands out in a poor league. Portuguese league is a class above Brazilian defensively. Benfica, Sporting, Braga are all good teams defensively (maybe Sporting not so much but anyway). And Hulk plays in CL and EL, too, against world class oposition... He is just a biased person refusing to accept a good argument. Edited June 2, 201213 yr by CacOBG
June 2, 201213 yr Would you say the Brazilian league is stronger than the Portugese league, seeing as though you said one reason we shouldnt sign Hulk is because he stands out in a poor league. Not sure, tbh, because the Brazilian League is more level a playing field (in terms of quality) in the sense that you've got the quality sides (Santos, Sao Paulo, Palmeiras, Flamengo, Corinthians, Fluminese and Internacional) who are always in the title running and tend to make it to the Copa Libertadores - and put on a good showing - with there being a tier of solid teams below them. The Portuguese League in reality is dominated by Benfica and Porto and there is a chasm in quality between them and the rest of the league (Sporting have dropped back to mediocrity and Braga have practically caught up with them and they tend to battle for 3rd)
June 2, 201213 yr People are hanging themselves on how good a league is without watching it often. These people getting raved about, Neymar, ganso, moura etc are raved about for a reason. The people who watch this league (brazilians) have seen the likes of ronaldo, kaka, pato etc come through the leagues and they raved about them too. I can't see fans of a league bigging up a crap player. Not saying we should dive in with both feet but that maybe although their league might not be the best the players it produces can be.

June 5, 201213 yr The 15m price quoted was from an article that is about six months old. And yet its that which has caused this disagreement. Anyway, I have only ever seen Ganso for Brazil, but the hype has been around a long time and seems for good reason. I too see him joining one of the Milan clubs, probably AC Milan given the old state of their midfield.
June 9, 201213 yr I think maybe a couple of people lose sight of the fact your purchasing a footballer, not a football league
June 12, 201213 yr Cant see where he would fit in as he needs two defensive players next to him as he doesnt track back or like to tackle
