The man that ran on the pitch

I have been watching the final twice daily since Sunday, and laugh every time at the bloke who ran onto the pich after the Drogs penalty went in. What a legend, I think of him as part of the squad now. Was it anyone off here lol?

Not sure I'd describe him as a 'legend' mate, him doing that could have easily caused a repeat of the City game vs QPR where loads of people swarmed onto the pitch, and stopped the players from celebrating properly after their hard earned victory - I, for one, was glad to see the Chelsea fans showed some restraint, and stayed in the stands, and let the Chelsea players enjoy their moment, as well as showing respect to the Bayern players also who were clearly absolutely f**king devastated.

It's not always a negative thing to see an old fashioned pitch invasion though, surely? I love watching footage of pitch invasions from the past, especially ones at the bridge, and in fact I actually enjoyed watching the City one against QPR. Yes it meant they'd have to wait an extra 20 minutes to start the trophy presentation. But, they'd already been waiting for 43 years, I'm sure it was fine in the end.

I was honestly surprised it was just 1 or 2 fans that ran on the pitch in Munich!

The Bayern players could not have been devastated enough imo, teach them to be so cocky next time, oh and you cant beat a good old fashioned pitch invasion, a relic from by gone years before football went commercial and sterile.

seconded, I have German mates (theyre in my platoon, and one of them is coming to visit in October) and although we do joke about stereotypical Germans and English, we dont do SS or Nazi jokes, or gas chamber sh*t. He loves this ....

I suspect he does see the problem Brandhino (sorry, can't give you your full title and I can't call you TBB because that's TeaBarBoy) but chooses to pretend he doesn't.

On the pitch invasion thing, I kind of like the spontaneity of pitch invasion. Although it was EVEN before my day (and that's saying something) I love the film of the white horse cup final

well since my family was being executed by the nazi regime id like to think i should have more issues with it than the germans

Plenty of Germans were executed by the Nazis as well, you have no more right to umbrage than anybody else who suffered.

That's beside the point, however. As a German, I'm sick and tired of how "Nazi" and "German" are synonymous to so many people. Very few Germans were actually Nazis. The two terms are not interchangeable and casual references to German police as looking like the SS only add to such ignorance.
