December 29, 20187 yr Abraham has scored again for Villa and Mason Mount has made it 2-2 for Derby against Norwich. Keep doing your stuff lads.

January 7, 20197 yr Author Ruben Sammut has had his loan at Falkirk expired. They've sent him back to Chelsea. I asked a Falkirk fan why, and he said that Ruben was one of the worst players in the team. Sad to read as he'd looked good in the youth games I caught him in. But, Falkirk are a different breed, battling relegation, and maybe it was too much for them to gamble on Ruben.

Ugbo has had his loan at Sc**thorpe ended too sadly, 2 goals in 18 appearances. Edited January 7, 20197 yr by the special one

Gone from a promotion battle to a relegation one. Yet another one who I had fairly high hopes for who doesn't look like he will fulfill his potential. Will join old youth-team mate Jon Swift at Reading who again is another one..............................etc etc

There were so many players with potential coming through then that we handled terribly by loaning them out to garbage teams that never played them, and ended up wasting season after season. The list of players I can name is literally through the roof. THANKFULLY though, we are slightly improving in that aspect with RLC and CHO both getting game time with our first team on a fairly regular basis, so maybe we are changing just a little bit? Though of course that all goes out the window is this moronic board decided to just sell CHO to Bayern

January 25, 20197 yr Another of our youngsters who is getting rave reviews is full back Reece James who is at Wigan. He's put in a number of MOTM performances and is one to keep an eye on. Has pace and is good on the ball and is quite a specimen with seasoned pro's apparently just bouncing off him!
June 27, 20197 yr Goodbye Jay Dasilva, a shame that hes been sold tbh! But good luck to the lad, I hope he does well and maybe someday he'll be back playing for us!

I was a big fan of his during his youth team days. Really hope he does well at Bristol City. I wonder if there's a buy-back clause?

Me too, and I hope there is a buyback clause. He certainly has the potential to be a top fullback in the future. Only time will tell how it goes. the fee was also undisclosed though i cant see it being much higher than 10m
June 27, 20197 yr Another defender is about to leave the Chelsea fold I always remember I had high hopes for this guy for his performance at anfield that day when Stevie G had his infamous slip. I believe in that match Kalas made a goal line clearance. IMHO Kalas is very versatile in the defense.

Not sure in England that any player being transferred outside the PL will be seen in a where the same price bracket. Most of the EFL teams are short of funds so probably is close to the maximum we were going to get for him. I would suspect that there are add ons and a significant percentage of any sell on profit. Jay is a good defender in terms of positioning, ability to tackle but there is one major minus and that’s his height.Sad as it is and some will want to argue but top coaches would target him trying to isolate him on the far post in particular. Ashley Cole was considered short and he at 5 ft 9ins was 2 ins taller than Jay. In truth I expect that we will see several of our ex academy players being sold this window in part because FIFA are in the process of rule changes in the area of players out on loan. Also we have not been great when it comes to some of our loan players when it’s pretty obvious that they won’t ever be quite good enough yet we get them to sign fresh contracts when it would probably be better all round if we sold them albeit for a smaller sum up front with clauses that potentially lead to more if they eventually realise earlier promise. As an aside it’s worth bearing in mind that by virtue of FA rules all players contracted to us, even if they are registered on loan elsewhere have to be paid via Chelsea payroll. When you read that the lending club is paying their wages that’s correct in that the club will invoiced for the wages either in full , part or not at all as per the loan agreement but that the wage bill or sums accounted for by way of PAYE aren’t adjusted and any sum paid will be shown in player trading receipts.FFP will take such matters into account but no such adjustments will be reflected in the statutory accounts.

I guess you are right, and thats sad to see. He has potential to be a great player, but I guess it is true that his height would effect it. But when someone like Wan Bissaka is going for over 50m when last year nobody had even heard of him, letting Jay go for 2/3 seems abysmal. But I do agree in the sense that because of the new loan rules (which I actually like tbh) that we will be losing a lot of younger players. Quite frankly though, a lot of them will actually never be good enough to play in the premier league despite how good they were at youth level. I mean just look at people like Bamford and Baker who people wanted to be in our first team just a few years ago, and now they seem like they're going to be championship players for the rest of their careers. Maybe even League 1.
July 4, 20197 yr Pasalic signed a new contract and loaned back out to Atlanta.... Waste of time if you ask me. Does he even count as a youth anymore? Pretty sure he's in his mid-20's atm
August 13, 20196 yr Omeruo gone to Leganes for 4.5m. Rumours that Besiktas want Piazon for 5m as well. Best to sell him off as soon as possible if thats true. Glad to see the loan army reducing in size significantly
