Do you believe it is possible for us to perform to the side's abilities when most of the 60% or so of the fans say they will never accept Rafa Benitez as manager no matter how he performs?

I've voted no, (emotion apart) because the fans being against the manager so strongly must eventually wear down the 'general' atmosphere amongst the staff (both training and playing).

I doubt it's EVER going to be possible to create a 'unity' within the whole club (fans included) whilst the FSW is in charge... whatever he does.

Of course. Those players are professionals and they will get on with their job. As much as a fat c**t he is, he's a good manager. I think we can be successful under him and if we go on a nice 4 or 5 game winning streak things will change around. The fans won't be chanting his name, but they will at least give him a chance if we're winning.

Rafael Benitez: Record breaker

Worst run of results since the mid nineties

First Chelsea team to allow Carlton Cole to score

Frist Chelsea team to lose to West Ham for nine years

Rafael Benitez: Lardy-arsed conman extraoridnaire.

Keep repeating the same thing but his mere presence is sucking the soul from the club. In every aspect. I'm starting to feel ambivalent about the whole thing. A similar attitude to the players today even. I'm past anger and now just accepting the inevitable.

The powers that be have to understand what they've done. It's tragic.

I would have said no, even before tonight's result:

1) He's a hate figure - even if we went on a miraculous winning run, the fans would never fully accept him

2) Appointing hate figures doesn't usually work out because the atmosphere between them and the fans is so toxic (see Alex McLeish and Aston Villa)

3) He uses a certain tactical system that doesn't necessarily suit all our players

4) Because of this, he isn't one to deliver instant league results

5) Like every other manager, he has to contend with an uneven squad and reduced morale - not sacking RDM would have at least kept morale higher if nothing else

Thing is we'll probably be in this situation next season. And the next. And so on. We keep getting this and its becoming ridiculous. We'll probably get Guardiola in the summer, have our usual November slump, sack him and bring in Avram Grant. The year after will be a repeat.

I know; it's like f**king Groundhog Day - and it's so damn avoidable.

Benitez is Roman's comeuppance.

Sack enough good people for your unrealistic expectations and fantasies, and eventually you will be taken in by a phony. Same thing in life: alienate all your friends and loved ones, and eventually you will be stuck with the kind of duplicitous assholes who nobody else likes.

I just hope, before its too late, Roman wakes up in a cold sweat and realizes what he has done. What he is doing to Chelsea. And it changes him and his approach.

For the love of god if anyone in the club reads the fans opinions, get Rafa the hell out of Chelsea FC before it is too late. It's been a horrific 2 weeks, but get him out now before he does anymore damage and either bring RDM back or bring in someone who knows what he is doing until the end of the season.

There is still a way out of this, it looks like a neverending tunnel of darkness with Rafa's face laughing at us as we fall ever deeper, but you can end it. Get him out of the club immediately and we can at least somewhat return to an stable club, not spiralling into oblivion.

Do you know what pisses me off even more about the spouser? (spanish Scouser) the way he keeps saying he'll win the fans over and just needs to win a few games.

I don't care if we win every game between now and the last day of the season, if hes here, I'm alienated from the Club I love and nothing will make me forgive him for that.

Exactly. He's diminishing our feelings and he's diminishing his actions of the past. He thinks it's all about results.

Newsflash for you Rafa: It ain't. It's about a lot f**king more than that.

Its funny because that sounds oh so, whats the word, plastic. I guess since thats what he thinks of us anyway, its no surprise he thinks we can be shut up with a few points.

Maybe its just a testament to how easy to play the Scousers were. They all danced to his tune after less than a season.

I hate what the FSW is doing to this club!

Benitez isn't really doing anything. As much as I disapprove of his appointment, it's not as if he took the job and announced a new policy of 'Scousification' or something ridiculous like that. He's just... here. It's Roman who is 'doing this' to the club. It's the sacrifice we've made for all the money he's injected.

As much as you despise him, he is working for your team. As manager, you should back him until he shows that he can take you absolutely no further. Do you think Liverpool fans were happy when he left and we got Woy Hodgson? No, but we backed him from the beginning. We certainly did not boo him, nor would we have booed if it was anyone else. Rafa is now an employee of Chelsea FC, which means he will be 100% committed to you. Just give him a chance. If he's not good enough, so be it, but at least give him the courtesy of a fighting chance before you call for his head.

It's the owner you should be taking a long, hard look at. Sacking the manager who brought you your greatest ever trophy and an FA Cup to top it off and who took you to the top of the table just a few short weeks ago is ludicrous. Your owner, despite his billions, would be the reason for any downfall at the club, not the manager. I hope you bounce back, but I can't sympathise with your plight whilst some of you so openly lambast your new manager while failing to look at the guy upstairs who made this all happen.

Hodgson never criticised your fans before taking over. If he'd made snide comments about the way you supported your team, you'd be hostile towards him to say the least. I get that you lot love the man which is fair enough because he stuck with you through a hell of a lot (some of which I believe was self-inflicted). So I don't think that's really a relevant example.

I agree with your point on Roman, he needs to sort his act out. But surely you can see why we don't like Benitez being in charge here.

Of course I can see, I understand your POV. I'm just saying that he's there and as you know, Roman isn't likely to listen to your opinions. All the protests in the world won't make a blind bit of difference to him, he'll just do what he wants. That being said, I just think you might as well back Rafa until footballing reasons warrant the Rafa Out chants.

True, Hodgson didn't say nasty things towards us, but I can only use examples that I can relate to. He may not have been nasty towards us, but he was certainly a long way down on our list of fans' favourite for the role. Just try and back Rafa for a bit. He's there for the moment so you might as well. As I said, he won't be going anywhere until RA tells him so, not the fans. It may take the pressure off him and the team and lift the atmosphere in the stadium and the team might start winning regularly again. Leave the manager baiting to fans of the opposition. By doing it yourself, you're just encouraging everyone else.
