Bosingwa Fined 100,000 Pounds for Refusing to Sit on QPR Bench

Featured Replies

Jose Bosingwa has been fined £100,000 by QPR after refusing to sit on the subs bench for the relegation threatened club.

The former Chelsea defender stormed out of Loftus Road after learning he would not be in the starting team to face Fulham last weekend.

And manager Harry Redknapp, angry at what he saw as an assault on his authority, invoked the maximum club penalty of two weeks wages as punishment.

Bosingwa, 30, was left behind altogether from the QPR squad that travelled for Saturday’s match at Newcastle although the club tried to hide the trouble, claiming the Portuguese star was suffering a back injury.

But his future at Loftus Road looks bleak as Redknapp tries to reshape his squad for the fight for Premier League survival with players who will be committed to the cause.

I've gotta say, this just makes me love him even more.

In other news, Fergie having another moan about a ref which will presumably lead to no consequences for him, however will probably result in said referee being dropped from EPL games for a few months. How he continues to get away with this sort of banter is astonishing.

Outraged Sir Alex Ferguson has urged the FA to take action following Robin van Persie's clash with Swansea defender Ashley Williams which the Manchester United boss believes could have killed his striker.

Fergie fumed after Williams punted the ball into the back of the Van Persie's head while he lay prone on the floor during the clash at the Liberty Stadium.

The Dutchman reacted angrily and squared up to Williams with referee Michael Oliver electing to book both players.

After the match Ferguson said: 'The Van Persie situation you can clearly see that he could have been killed.

'The FA has got to look into it regardless that he has been given a yellow card. He should be banned for a long time because that was the most dangerous thing I've seen on a football field for many years.

'It was absolutely deliberate. The whistle has gone, the game has stopped and he has done that right in front of the referee, he could have killed the lad.

'It was a disgraceful act by the player, he should banned for a long time.'

Williams defended his actions following the match, claiming his attempted clearance wasn't meant to hit the United striker.

He said: 'I just cleared the ball with frustration and unfortunately it hit him in the head and he got a bit angry about it.

Ferguson was angry with Mr Oliver for not awarding his side a free-kick for what he thought was a foul on Van Persie in the build-up to what was Michu's 13th goal of the season.

'It was foul on van Persie, a clear foul,' he said. 'The referee had one of those days where we didn't get anything out of him.

'It was a shocking performance. I know he is a young referee but I was disappointed with that performance.'

Classless git as always, complete overreaction as well, saying he could have been killed by getting kicked in the head by a modern football, ridiculous.

Remember this Fergie?

^Exactly, if i were a sports journalist in the room when he's doing that interview, i'd be pointing said things out.

The way the media and FA are scared of him is ridiculous.

£100,000 fine? Seriously who can blame him.

You know when you go to Loftus Road, they have those banners in the stands: "WE ARE QPR" and "THIS IS LOFTUS ROAD". You'd think they'd be ashamed enough to keep quiet about it. I mean be fair, wouldn't you?

Something like this perhaps: "We are QPR and this is Loftus Road .. sorry we can't help it" we just are".

Well fair play to them, low IQ sub-pikey inbreds that they are, for at least having the front to own up to it.

Is it really wrong that Bosingwa is punished? Correct me if I'm wrong, but just because he didn't get to play and had to start on the bench he refused to take part of the game? To me that is a kind of bad thing to do. I can only imagine what some here would say if Torres did the same thing or, heaven forbid, Mikel.

As for the fine, well that is over the top. Players can shout racist stuff and get lower fines.

QPR an example of what happens when you get ideas way above your station. Exactly what would an (ex)international footballer worth his salt go to QPR for? It can't be anything to do with football. Just a few nights out on the lash and a final pay day before you head off to Brazil/US/China. Norwich and Swansea have done it the right way and signed young and hungry players with their heads screwed on and are reaping the rewards. Norwich beating Spurs, Arsenal and Man U at home as well as being in the top half, Swansea in a League cup semi final and gone toe to toe with Arsenal, Chelsea and United and yet to lose to any of them.

As for Fergie, I can't help but feel Fabrice Muamba and Petr Cech are sitting in front of a TV somewhere looking bemused hearing that. But hey, thank god Robin is still with us after such a traumatic experience, football is an irrelevance at times like this. Guns don't kill people, footballs do

qpr were idiots to sign him...not as if they had far to go to scout him...he was sh*t barring a few games for chelsea, bizarrely performed against some of the best teams in europe usually out of position, but wolves, stoke etc forget it...£65,000-a-week? surprised he stopped laughing long enough to sign his name on the dotted line

In future news: Michael Oliver will spend 15 before getting a Man Utd game again, and promptly gives them 2 pens and sends off an opposition player.

f**k Fergie and his mock outrage bullsh*t.

As for QPR, they are reaping exactly what they've sown. Build a team by signing 20 random has-beens on August 31st and this is what you get. Redknapp has already called out their summer additions as overpaid, and I cant wait to see who else decides theyve had enough.

Bosingwa was an awful player for Chelsea, but I can't say he was ever a good signing for us. It was amazing that he lasted with Chelsea for the amount of time he did. He's poor passer, he doesn't have great strength and he's overrated. There were only a few exceptions where he actually played well, but I'm glad Chelsea moved on from him.

QPR can worry about him now. :laugh2:

I think he's certainly good enough to play for QPR, and he did have some outstanding performances last season, especially late last season when we had virtually no available defenders and he had to take a lot of the responsibility.

Players wanted to play for West Ham and Newcastle partly due to wages but also the pride and respect you have to have playing for those clubs, it's completely different at QPR. QPR by enlarge are a 3rd or at best 2nd tier team in the Premier League. They are punching well above their weight so unlike with West Ham and Newcastle I'd imagine if they did go down to the Championship none of their players bar the ones that got them up in the first place would be up for the scrap and transfer requests would by flying in from all angles.

Fine him for ruining the CL trophy presentation last season.

Wasn't as bad as Mikel's ruining of the FA cup presentation. Refusing to hand the trophy along and running off with it. What a prick.

Back to Bosingwa, eh?

I heard Harry "triffic" Redknapp is pretty much saying that Bosingwa will be gone in the January window.  Can people honestly say that 'Arry would ahve been a good manager at Chelsea?

Well Scott, to be fair, if Harry was here and one of our players refused to sit on the bench because he was miffed I would be all for getting rid of the guy.

Id certainly have taken Harry over Benitez but that doesnt really say much. We wouldnt have the circus of Benitez and the deaf/blind/mute club behind him, but we would have a sideshow of a wheeler dealer manager.
