July 30, 201411 yr He along with Courtois and Hazard were supposed to report back to training today since they played in the World Cup. Could be a pic of him flying to London to be honest, but probably unlikely Nah, it's done. Guardian reporting it now too. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/30/everton-sign-romelu-lukaku-chelsea
July 30, 201411 yr I don't really get why everyone is slagging off Lukaku, he signed for a club that he was really excited to sign for when we bought him, thought he was set at his dream club for years to come. Realised that he wasn't ready to be part of the first team and went out on loan, proved himself on loan over the course of two seasons. Has heard nothing from the club saying that they trust in him, want him or are willing to give him a fair crack of the whip - despite our lack of striking options. He feels let down (rightly so) and is now excited to be moving on to play somewhere he'll be appreciated. Good luck to the kid. We were going to keep him last season and he was going to fight for a place as the number 1 striker, but he didn't want to do that so asked to go out on loan. Ba was all but gone but we stopped it at the last second because Lukaku wanted to go. I am sure the situation is the same this year. Lukaku was going to need to fight for his place in the first team but he didn't like it so now wants to leave. Of course i can't know this, but that is what it looks like from my point of view. Personally i just feel that the guy expects to be number 1 without proving himself at the club. He thinks he is better than he is.
July 30, 201411 yr I wasn't much of a fan of Lukaku's attitude at times but then again he's only young. Fairly gutted to see him leave without a proper chance, good luck to him and hopefully we replace him properly. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28569197 Edited July 30, 201411 yr by 1905.
July 30, 201411 yr BBC reporting he's Everton bound now as well. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28569197 Later Rom... I'll always cherish those 4 appearances in a Chelsea shirt.
July 30, 201411 yr He will be announced by Everton tonight as their new signing, apparently. I'm sure we'll cope just fine with Torres, Drogba and Costa Edited July 30, 201411 yr by Blueblur
July 30, 201411 yr I will bet that we win nothing this season (although I'm excluding the Carling Cup). 100 quid to the Shed End? And no I was just taking that comment in isolation; it's not directly related to Lukaku. So why wont we win anything?
July 30, 201411 yr Really hope Torres is sold and we bring someone else in now, to stick with Costa, Drogba and Torres isn't good.
July 30, 201411 yr according to BBC we signed him for £18 million. I read on transfermarkt that we paid about £15 mil for him, which would make sense given that his loan fee to Everton last year was £3 million (represents the amortisation cost of one year of a 5 year £15 mil deal). Sources reporting we are selling for £22 million. not exactly a bad return on a striker who has featured less than a handful of times for us, but still it would have been nice to see us get more for him since we always get held to ransom by other clubs.
July 30, 201411 yr Cherish the thought of what could have been. Now, another young and talented player is gone. KDB, Mata, Luiz, Lukaku all gone. Who is next? In Jose we trust.

July 30, 201411 yr All the best, fighting for the number 4 spot? Dream come true. Say what you want about torres, as bad as he is and as much sh*t as he gets atleast he sticks around and puts some effort in for the club. We paid £12m for him rising to £18m with performance based add ons, none of which will be paid. So if we get £28m for him plus the £5m everton and west brom paid to loan him, that's a massive £21m profit, for a player that made 10 appearances.
July 30, 201411 yr I wouldn't f**k with anyone who was a grand officer of the Order of Infante Dom Henrique.

July 30, 201411 yr IF he does sign for Everton when he comes to the Bridge he should get the most hostile reception of all time. I cannot think of a player in our history who has been so disrespectful of what the Chelsea shirt represents. This new chapter thing is typical of the boy and I say boy because he needs to grow up and quickly. He thinks he is Sturridge in disquise but he cannot hold a candle to him.

July 30, 201411 yr Costa, Drogba & Torres -- that's a frighteningly thin lineup up top. Yup. One top forward with an ageing hero long past his best and a striker who we all know couldn't score in a brothel. One injury and we are in trouble
