Posted March 21, 201312 yr I write this in hope of the small chance that one of your minions picks up on it and relays some of it back to you...i realise this is a long shot. May i speak on behalf of many fans of this great club - Firstly, congratulations to everyone associated with the club following the biggest season for us, culminating with lifting the Champions League Trophy in 2012 (we should still be basking in the glory of such an achievement, in such a manner too.......*sighs* what a long time ago that was...). With all due respect, i am absolutely disgusted with how this club is currently run, despite the silverware of late. I genuinely believe the owner has good intentions and is a fan of the club. He wants the best and to see CFC at the top. IT is the people working for him that is the issue, and i dont mean the manager (i will get on to that in a minute). The shadowy figures Bruce Buck, Ron Gourlay and Michael Emanelo seem to be, in my opinion, a cancerous infestation within the set up. There is no denying the introduction of Peter Kenyon and the names above and the immense experience of business and commerce these employees bring to the club but the pendulum has swung so much that the focus is now on business and economy and not what it was and should always have been about, the club. It is simply a mirror reflection on the stagnant state of society chasing the dream and the illusory importance of the monetary system. Even now, to the point where the treatment of arguably the biggest footballing name to ever have played for CFC, Frank Lampard, looking to break the all time goal scoring record, with un-surpising perfect timing from the midfield. To have this loyal servant, textbook professional watch his contract run down and not have it renewed (unless of ofcourse this is a clever publicity ploy involving Frank himself to draw the attention from our manager situation, which again, il get to in a minute...) To see the likes of other clubs looking after their best players and sorting out their long term futures and CFC hanging our beloved number 8 out to dry, in truth, sickens me. He should have a rolling 1 yr contract for as long as he can go on for, coaching badges on the side and a fat shiny statue unveild out the front of Stamford Bridge of Frank pointing to the sky. Anything less shameful, disloyal and embarrassing to say the very least. Right, lets have it, Rafa Benitez. No disputing the man's great coaching and managing skills but he is not CFC. He is Liverpool FC. Only somebody without a firm hand on the pleasantries and culture of this footballing nation would suggest in appointing such a man for such a post. (see figures of shadow above). I am genuinely surprised the man himself had the cheek, guts and ambition to take on the role in the first place...in this regard, i admire and respect him. If one were to think of a manager to take on our club, i honeslty feel that Rafa was at the bottom of the list for the majority of the CFC supporters. The treatment of Robbie Di Matteo, following the clubs success last year, was atrocious. Enough has been said about it so i will not pour my heart yet again. I have rambled enough...i just wanted to express my disbelief at the current situation of the club i hold so dear. Now, may i suggest a couple of amendments that would sweeten the bitter taste i have for my club currently:- Bruce Buck, Ron Gourlay, Michael Emanelo - OUT. You are breaking the club from the inside. Appoint shadowy business figures of our own (god knows we have enough). People affiliated with the club somehow, irrespective of whether they will be good at the job...a love for the club is better than any business track record. Rafa Benitez, thank you but you should never have even been put in the hat for the appointment in the first place - OUT. Again, appoint someone affiliated with the club ideally. If not then appoint some of the coaching staff that have ties with the club. To name a few, Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink, Steve Clarke, Ray Wilkins, Luca Vialli, Ruud Gullit, Dennis Wise, Gus Poyet, FRanco Zola, Marcel Desailly, Eider Gudjohnson etc etc - IN. Players that need to go - Torres (should never have been signed), Benayoun (should never have come back), Ferreira (should have been sold 3 years ago), Malouda (should have been sold last year), Cech (controversial i know, but for me his time is up and Courtois should be brought in for next season), Terry (controversial again, i love the man as a captain and a player, but as a man i do not. He is starting to have an adverse effect on the club and despite his love for the club needs to take more of a backseat playing role and get his badges. I feel his stature in the club would dimish somewhat witha figure who already has ties withthe club....someone to put him in his place if needed as it were....Dennis Wise springs to mind....or Marcel Desailly...no messing with Big Des...) - OUT. All of our exciting young talent we ship out on loans. Lukaku, De Bruyne, McEachran, Chalobah, Bruuma, Van Aanholt, Essien etc - IN. Frank Lampard - IN.....we made a mistake getting rid of the German general Ballack...lets not do it again, please. I could get right into the nuts and bolts of the current playing style at CFC and how i feel it could be maximised further with the talent we have available, the ridulousness of the bench we currently have on show and how much I fancy Eva Carneiro but I feel I have said enough for now, maybe another post. For me, its roll on next season. This one, oh so full of hope at the start, has turned into a bit of a nightmare. KTBFFH CFC
March 21, 201312 yr Terry (controversial again, i love the man as a captain and a player, but as a man i do not. With all due respect, that has to be the biggest bollocks I've ever read. Are we letting the Daily Mail pick our squad? We lose Terry and a little more of our soul flies out the window. Correction .. A lot more of our soul. Besides, Terry is still head and shoulders above our other central defenders and I wouldn't swap him for any other in the league quite frankly. Terry is one of our own, he has given us incredible service, and if we were to ditch him we may as well all pack it in.
March 21, 201312 yr Agreed, its players like Terry, Frank and Cech that have been here and won it all. They are the ones who should be here to look after and bring through the younger players. The rare nice stories you hear about Terry and how he is with the youth players (not becuase he is only nice now and then but becuase the media cant stand to praise him) its clear that he is needed at our club. Some of the things ive read former youth players say about the man when they were having problems are inspiring. Yes he has made mistakes but who hasnt. My Chelsea hero Dennis Wise who you talked about was even in trouble with the law once or twice. You look at United (as much as i hate to) as a bench mark of how to look after players and managers and thats what we should be doing. Not throwing away players that are dear to us just because they are the wrong side of 30. These players offer more than just what they give on the pitch every week.
March 21, 201312 yr You need players who are the heart of your team and your club. Here's a list of players and I bet you would instantly associate them with being integral to a certain club. Giggs Maldini Puyol Del Perio Adams Gerrard It's not always about being the best player but being a symbol for your club. John Terry is our symbol, our captain our leader our legend.
March 21, 201312 yr A post that started so well then came the laying of the blame. Anywhere but Roman! He's a very shrewd business man, clearly very clever, clearly with strong opinions and clearly not shy to hold people accountable. Yet we darent blame him for anything that's wrong with the club, it has to be those that he employs!!!! I stopped reading there, then I saw the posts following about getting shot of the legend that is John Terry and it became clear that this note is bollox. If any of Roman's minnions do happen to stumble across this thread please do not take the first post as a message from Chelsea fans.
March 21, 201312 yr How many of these 'letters to Abramovich' threads do we need? Its not as if he's even reading the f**king things. Either say "here's my opinion", or add your opinion to a thread that already exists.
March 21, 201312 yr Right, lets have it, Rafa Benitez. No disputing the man's great coaching and managing skills but he is not CFC. He is Liverpool FC. March 21, 201312 yr I am always suspicious when someone joins us and restricts himself to starting his own thread and making ONE post. No attempt to look into other threads and see if there is something he can add to the debate. I suspect he has joined lots of Chelsea sites today and posted this on each of them. No malice to you, Merlin, but I would have preferred to see you join, introduce yourself and look around the threads before wading in. Morgana X
March 21, 201312 yr Author On behalf of all Chelsea fans i would like to offer many thanks for all your responses. Apologies for the non-introductory post. Keep smiling eh... CFC
March 21, 201312 yr With Financial fair play just around the corner the club has no choice but to start looking at things from a fiscal perspective. We do a far better job than some of our competitors (cough cough Arsenal) at remaining competitive in both the transfer market and the playing field whilst keeping a responsible eye on the finances of the club. You did make the odd valid point in that god awful ramble of yours but I think this thread is would make a great 'exhibit A' as to why there should be a minimum of 50 odd posts before people are allowed to start a thread.
March 21, 201312 yr Fair bit of 'drama queening' there Merlin....But this i do agree with, and you put it well.. "To see the likes of other clubs looking after their best players and sorting out their long term futures and CFC hanging our beloved number 8 out to dry, in truth, sickens me. March 21, 201312 yr I don't understand why you want to get rid of Cech and Terry but keep Lampard who is a few years older and plays further up the bitch. Also some pretty random managerial recommendations there like Eidur Gudjohnsen, lol.
March 21, 201312 yr On behalf of all Chelsea fans i would like to offer many thanks for all your responses. Apologies for the non-introductory post. Keep smiling eh... CFC Just a quick point - you don't represent all Chelsea fans, nobody does - your arrogance is almost beyond belief. I only say almost because there's a few other posters on here who could give you a run for your money.
March 22, 201312 yr keep Lampard who is a few years older and plays further up the bitch. That's the wedding to Christine off then
