Team of the Half Season (TOTHS)

Featured Replies

OK the acronym  I made reminds me too much of Spurs, but non of their players will be getting in this team. Here are my thoughts on the Premier League team of the season after 19 games.

I never know whether to make a well balanced team or a combination of the best players, but one thing is for sure, I need to have two strikers.

--------------------Krul-----------------------

--Coleman---Terry--Koiscelny-----Shaw--

-------------Ramsey------Yaya Toure-------

---Rooney-------------------------Hazard----

------------Suarez------Aguero--------------

Bench:

De Gea
Azpilicueta
Lovren

Barry

Oezil

Sturridge
Remy

Random points:

Barry just missed out on a starting place instead of Yaya.

Left back was hard and I was tempted to go for Azpi, but Shaw has been very impressive.

People may disagree with Rooney, but I think he's been a warrior this year.

Not much debating the front two.

Honourable mentions: Zabaleta, Huddlestone, Ramires, Lallana, Lukaku, Negredo, Barkley

Also Fernandinho > Toure, Mignolet for GK and I would have Silva somewhere in the starting XI.

Edit: Might as well do the whole team now, was trying to be lazy

Mignolet

Coleman

Terry

Koscielny

Dave

Fernandinho

Ramsey

Silva

Rooney

Aguero

Suarez

Fair enough. A lot of the players there is no debating about. Just a few positions really.

Personally, I think Mignolet has dropped off. Hasn't kept a clean sheet in a long time and two high profile blunders in big games.

Fernandinho I don't know enough about as I haven't really been watching him when watching City games and he's one of those players you have to watch specifically in a match to properly judge.

Silva is a fair shout and was probably an unfair ommission from me.

I reckon the final team will only include players mentioned by Remodez, Jack and Myself

(4-4-2) Szceszny, Zabaleta, Lovren, Terry, Evra, Toure, Ramsey, Oezil, Hazard, Rooney, Suarez

Bench: Howard, Debuchy, Mertesacker, Barry, Gerrard, Lallana, Silva, Aguero, (picked an 8 man bench because I wanted Lallana and Silva in)

Good point about Mignolet, Spiller just reminded me that Szceszny has been better.

Cech

Azpilicueta
Terry

Cahill

Ivanovic

Lampard

Ramires

Oscar

Hazard

Willian

Torres ( I guess )
