bluelion111 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 So after wading through the pages and pages of despair in the wake of the Palace game and the Scouse revival, I thought it would be good to start a thread dedicated to all the things we can be thankful for this season. 1) The return of JT. After the idiocy of the FSW to bench him, he's been playing some of his best football for absolute years, looks like he could last another 4-5 years. 2) Re-signing Matic. Aside from the Palace match, an absolute f**king rock and credit to the board and Roman for swallowing their pride and allowing us to buy him back. The way he dominated Toure at the Etihad was pure artwork. 3) The rise of Dave and Cahill. Two solid if not spectacular squad members last year, now could get into most first eleven's anywhere. Dave in particular playing on the wrong side has been insanely good. 4) Beating Liverpool, United, Everton, Spurs and Arsenal and City twice. Our results have been freakishly inconsistent this year but I'd rather have it this way round than be in a situation like Arsenal who crumble against the big boys. I fully expect Mourinho to iron out the small teams problem next year, especially with a good striker. 5) Winning the Champions League...
coco Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 6) Going to the slums and breaking their hearts just as they 'started believing'.
Guest RFC_CFC Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Well we have the best manager in world football. We have one of the best attacking midfielders in Hazard We have a top defensive mid in Matic Our back 4 look solid and we have young prospects coming in like Zouma. The foundation is there and maybe 2 or 3 sop signings will complete the group providing everything goes smoothly in the summer.
Beerqueen Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Return of TSO anyone?? Linked to this - feeling like we've got our Chelsea back.
Jonty Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Every morning I wake up I know it is one less day until Torres's contract expires.
Sparkz Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 We not only have the best manager in the world, we have the best manager in the world who considers himself a Chelsea fan and loves the club Oh and we have the best owner in football
Lane Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) The Palace game was the straw that broke the camels back and finally no expense will be spared when it comes to getting a new striker Edited March 31, 2014 by Lane
Coxy15 Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 that feeling of being unbeatable at home. a real fortress again. the old Jose Mourinho spirit (although lacking in some games this season, has been present the majority of the season). The fact that i am supremely confident ahead of big games this season, rather than being worried about losing. The Special One winding everyone up. The signing of Matic. Hazard's development. Azpi's breakthrough. JT being back on form. Taking Willian off spurs and him turning out to be a good buy.Being in a title race for the first time in years. Reaching the Champions League Semi's again (a bit premature, but it will happen). A positive atmosphere, generally, both on here and at the Bridge. No sign of the FSW. Wenger cracking under the pressure of Mourinho yet again. So many things to enjoy this year, such a contrast to last year. Whether we win the league, or finish 2nd it has been an outstanding season, huge improvement on last year. Proud to be a Chelsea fan again, when last year i struggled to watch us play under 'that w**ker'. KTBFFH!
Beerqueen Posted March 31, 2014 Posted March 31, 2014 Whole heartedly agree Coxy - it's just felt right again this year!
