CL money - we got less than Utd and PSG

Featured Replies

It says it right in the article why PSG got more than us, they were the only French side to make it past the group stage and got paid big bucks by the French TV stations.

In relation to Man Utd they drew two of their group games(we lost two) and were paid extra for each point. In addition the get a little more in respect of the share of TV pool in England .

Most countries benefited from new TV deals. In England the huge new deal with BT Sport kicks in next season

When you add the Premier league monies with the CL money we got a cool £130 million, Man Utd £125 million, City £ 118 million & Arsenal £ 114.6

ITV always cream their pants when Manchester United play and I think they had more group games shown on TV then anyone else.

I'm not sure I even remember Chelsea being on terrestrial TV until the knock out stages.

Yep, thats exactly it!

If I remember rightly each country gets a pot of money that clubs get a percentage from as they progress. If only one clubs get through to the latter stages then they take all the money, as Celtic did a few years ago.

Good point...Utd could play a newspaper boy XI with jumpers for goalposts and still be put on live...hope it changes when bt takeover next year, but I doubt it

Well they can't show them this season!

Mind you, we might have to put up with Chiles fawning over Slippy G.

ITV showed 6 live Group Stage matches on ITV1.

Celtic 1

Arsenal 2

Man Utd 3

Excluding the final they showed another 4 live games (knockout stages)

Chelsea 3

Arsenal 1

It's a joke that us and City didn't even come before Celtic. That is ITV for you though, i wouldn't be surprised if next season they show 3 group games of Liverpool.

On a similar note did you know that every Man United fa cup tie has been on live on tv since 2005 (either sky or terrestrial)

I expect Utd to be back in top four by time bt take over, especially as I reckon Suarez will leave Liverpool this summer
