Are our rivals about to catch or overtake us?

If we draw at home to United and away to Arsenal we should get over the line here.

Arsenal away in particular is a must not lose game. We'd all be pretty bloody happy with a draw there.

Arsenal with the pressure on:

I really hope they do crumble, but the Monaco game was more a case of them underestimating their opposition wasn't it? What's worrying from my perspective is that they're grinding out results in tough places (City away, United away, Palace away, Newcastle away) alongside trouncing some of the 'weaker' teams at home. Losing to Spurs is a crumb of comfort but they've put together a magnificent run since Christmas and are strangely not being talked up as you might expect.

I also wonder how people view Coquelin - his introduction seems to have transformed that midfield.

I'm predicting an away win at Arsenal.

Hope so obviously, if Mikel is back perhaps we have a chance... I think we'll be lucky to get a result with Fabregas/Matic in the double pivot. Would like to see;

Courtois

Ivanovic - Cahill - JT - Dave

Mikel - Matic

Willian - Oscar - Hazard

Remy

Arsenal away is the quintessential 'must-not-lose' game and maybe we need Mikel back, or maybe we just go with Zouma again.

But to me, that is Jose's forté.

Coquelin has indeed sorted out their midfield almost overnight, I suppose it's on the one hand a sign of the extent to which Wenger f**ked up in failing to sign a proper DM over the summer and on the other hand a vindication of the amount of effort he puts into Arsenal's youth system.

I wasn't really sure how to regard the Monaco game - they probably did underestimate them or at least tactically miscalculate how to deal with them; on the other hand there were plenty of individual errors and by the end it seemed like they had more or less given up. They only even got a goal thanks to a horrible missed tackle from Kondogbia near the end when they were on the break (after a chance Ferreira-Carrasco should really have scored), and then proceeded to concede again anyway.

Would love to see Mikel back for the Arsenal game; I would also want to see Drogba appear at some point - if we end the season without him having scored a trademark goal against Arsenal I will be bitterly disappointed. Would be surprised not to see one of Ramires and Fabregas feature though - the former for his athleticism and pressing, the latter for the general slap in the face to Arsenal fans.

He hasn't but he's going to someday, I just hope it's not this season.

I am sure he will beat Jose sooner or later.

Much in the same way this great run of Arsenals will end sooner or later before the season is done.

I've got a sneaky feeling Burnley nick a point off them on Saturday.

3 chelsea players, and matic really should be in there :) but still shows how good we are

Staggering Ivan is in there. Going on his defensive play this season. .he wouldn't make the reserves.

Courtois

Carvajal Godin JT Alba

Kroos Modric

Neymar Hazard Ronaldo

Messi

In my opinion that would be the most balanced team.

courtois? nah de gea as been on form the whole season

I thought Kroos was having a so-so season personally. I'd have Matic in his place in a heartbeat.

Ivan is probably in there because of the goals he's scored this season, it can't be due to his defending because that's been pretty brutal.

I'd only have Hazard from our team in it.

Actually, Pique over Terry? Haha oh dear.

To be fair, while I agree that Terry is the better defender, I don't think it's a particularly outrageous choice as Piqué has been outstanding since the turn of the year. Barca have only conceded 13 goals in 17 games and have had 7 clean sheets, plus they have the best defensive record in the league.

Only put Courtois because of how good he was in La Liga.

De Gea makes mistakes as well, he did on the weekend against Villa..

Not as bad as Courtois' mistakes this season though.
