Bradford fan in peace

Hi all

Apologies as this is probably wrong section but i can't post in tickets section.

Anyway I'm looking to come down to the game on Saturday but I'll have to come in your Chelsea end as my club cannot organise a piss up in a brewery.

I'm with my 10 year old, Chelsea supporting son and i was wondering if anyone can advise which stand i would be best/safest in?

Also can i trust these ticket touting sites to actually deliver and not rip me off?

All the best for the game, not like your going to need it!! And beat them arrogant Mancunians to that title!!

Tony

Don't have too much to help but thought I'd try to help with the little I know.

So will you be blatantly cheering on Bradford?  Or sitting there inwardly hoping but outwardly neutral?  If the former, definitely avoid the Shed or the Matthew Harding Lower.  If the latter you'll probably be ok but I wouldn't be 100% sure.  Oh, just noticed your 10 year old is a Chelsea fan so at least you won't be hoping he doesn't give you away!

I had to sit in the Shrewsbury supporters for the League cup game and found it difficult even though they're my second team as they're local to me.  But I did it without giving myself away I think!

No idea about touting sites - wouldn't trust them if you want my advice.  Have you tried twickets I think it's called on Twitter?  Again I haven't tried it but I think it's fan to fan without absurd rip off prices.  If you must use a tout there's always loads outside the ground (annoys the hell out of me, why aren't they arrested?) and I understand you may be able to get for less than full price once the match has started - no idea what it's like beforehand.

Thanks for your good wishes - as you say we shouldn't need it but you never know!  And as to the title, thanks again - nice to know somebody like us, sometimes it feels like no-one does!

Thank you, beerqueen.

I'm not stupid enough to come in a home end and cheer the away team, I'll be sat there quietly letting the boy enjoy the game. Besides I don't really see is having much to cheer about but you never know.. I guess this game is a little different than had Millwall knocked us out, I generally wouldn't be expecting any animosity but still I'd be trying tohide the Yorkshire accent.

To be fair, whilst I don't believe in second teams you guys would be pretty close too it if I did. I used to love the way you'd give or neighbors Leeds a good old hammering in the old days!! I've actually been before as a "home" supporter with a distant relative, seeing Gavin Peacock? Knock in the winner 1-0 over manure, unfortunately that relative has since passed or they would be getting hassled for tickets ha..

Thanks again for the advice, I guess this means I'll have to sign up to the wonderful world of twitter to avoid being ripped off..

Family stand (East Lower). If you just sit and watch the game you'll be absolutely fine. Most people in that stand are quiet anyway and there's no obligation to sing as much as there is behind the goals.

I don't like to assume too much!  And as to the accent, I wouldn't worry, there's CFC supporters clubs which come in from all over the country and I don't think it's likely to be a high-emotion, fierce rivalry game is it?  Hope you enjoy the day!

Yeah true, there are a lot of idiots out there which I guess is the reason for asking.

I'm all over twickets now, it seems you guys have bigger fish to fry in the coming weeks so aren't really bothered about this game lol.. Fingers crossed I'll get them family stand tickets.

As a matter of interest, should we expect a real dicking or will Jose play your third team to give us a slight chance? You have some big games coming up, so we will definitely give you the chance to rest a few, if not all the first team.

Well we only beat Shrewsbury 2-1 so you never know!  And that was with second not third, and some of the big guys coming on to help them out!

I'm not surprised there are tickets available - loads of people probably bought them for the loyalty points intending all the time to sell them on.  It's a shame though as it probably stops other fans going as they are naive enough to only try to get them direct from the club and don't know how to get them otherwise.  But as you say, bigger fish to fry....  a fourth round tie against lower division side pales a bit when we've got City in the PL and Liverpool in the League cup.

You'll be fine anywhere in the east stand and west stand mate especially if you're boy is wearing Chelsea colours.

Jose will be resting a few without doubt, Costa for one.

Exactly and i sincerely hope you put them to the sword!!

I'd be happy with a couple of decent chances when the game is close, fully expect you to turn it on if still close at half time though.

I understand about the loyalty points, shame my club can't get themselves organised enough to do the same.. I've attended every FA Cup game home and away, yet a clerical error has meant i could only buy one ticket online, i therefore queued for 8hours and was 20 away from ticket office when told sold out!!

Loyalty points is definitley the way to go!

It was a bit of a free for all for the Shrewsbury game (and others) as Chelsea didn't use loyalty points to allocate tickets for that game!  It's not a perfect system but I suppose it's better than nothing.

As turnyitb says anywhere in the east or west, you'll be fine, even if you wear a shirt as bad as our reputation is, we are not f**kwits even if you went in MHL you'd get stick but nothing nasty. good luck with the ticket seach, And hope you both enjoy the game!

If you can get tickets in the west upper you'll have a great view. Plus half those around you will be be tourists, so won't be able to differentiate between a Yorkshire and cockney accent. Good luck!

Yes, you'll have seen the very fair comments and due respect to Bradford and fans on here, says a lot about the quality of the forum, its members and how it's run.

Enjoy your moment, Bradford must be alive tonight.

Tone, that was one of the most incredible feats I've ever witnessed in the FA Cup, maybe Football in general. We were dogsh*t but for you to come to ours and win 4-2 having been 2-0 is truly remarkable. Hope you and your fans had a great night!

Thank you very much for your comments and your fans in general. Being a long suffering Bradford fan of 30+ years we treasure days like that. Whilst i appreciate the disappointment you guys will have been feeling i must say your fans were a complete credit to you after the game, very gracious in defeat.. Totally different attitude to Arsenal and Villa when we toppled them a couple of years ago.

I think we are all still in total shock, whilst we are a decent aside at our level to do that to Chelsea (albeit a weakened side but still littered with internationals) was nothing short of incredible..

I'm sooo glad i managed to get tickets in our end because i wouldn't have been able to keep quiet seeing that. I was only considering home end thinking I'd only have the odd shot to keep quiet on..

Anyway all the best for the rest of the season and thank you for honouring the 56 RIP.

The only positive I took away from this game, is it would make fans like you very...very happy.

And that's what makes football special.

It's euphoria, or a kick in the guts, but it's rarely dull. And cup games are the most volatile of all. Genuinely happy for Bradford, doesn't mean I'm not angry though haha

Thought the Bradford fans were great. Saw a few who were on great form going to the game and leaving it the ones I spoke to on the tube were delighted but also pretty gracious. Hope they all got home safe because apparently the train situation was a bit messed up.

I got talking in the pub after to one of the regulars at Dulwich Hamlet's away match at Hampton & Richmond Borough, turned out he's a London born Bradford fan who gave up the chance of a ticket to see Dulwich Hamlet instead!
