Chelsea fans racially abuse a man on the Paris Metro

Featured Replies

Surely not, why else do Chelsea have a service that allows you to sell on your tickets.

Weren't they using Viagogo up to recently as an official partner where tickets are notoriously marked up well above face value.

So if this lad sold his ticket, not for profit as he was unable to attend then I can't see how he is breaking any rules?

Just had a quick look at the ticketing rules and it says;

Match Tickets for UEFA Champions League Away Matches are non-transferable and the Season Ticket Holder/Member must be the customer who travels to the Match.

So I assume he's had his season ticket suspended because he broke the rules under which he purchased the tickets. I'm half-reading this and a dozen other things though so might be misinterpreting it.

I am sure it is technically against the rules.

One would think that having incorrectly suspended him since Paris that they would consider that punishment enough- it's hardly crime of the century under the circumstances, thousands of tickets are passed around for every home game- it happens that's the reality.

It is also a joke when Chelsea FC up until last season happily worked with Viagogo which was basically legal touting , ripping Chelsea fans off for every home game.

Furthermore Chelsea FC don't seem to do a great deal to stop the hundreds of touts that walk up and down Fulham Road selling match tickets for 5 times face value. One could argue that it is the job of the police to control this and I would agree but it hardly seems to bother CFC either, they let it go.

I think it's only European away games that have this particular rule associated with them, so once it was made very clear to them it was probably just easier to suspend him. Just tough luck really - feel sorry for the guy but just a series of unfortunate events.

The club should have made a point of righting their wrong towards this bloke.

They haven't and that stinks.

Although I think he's been unlucky, he's broken one of the rules that he agreed to when buying a ticket. Now the club probably does turn a blind eye but when his defence against one accusation was that he wasn't at the match because he broke a rule then it's hard for them to do so.

It's tough luck on the guy but nothing about it stinks. He's had his season ticket suspended for transferring a non-transferrable ticket and admitting to it.

The club has suspended people for far more petty reasons.

It 'doesn't stink' about as much as it 'doesn't stink' when people get suspended for persistent standing in the Shed and MHL.

Give me a f**king break.

The victim in Paris said his life has been 'destroyed'. Destroyed? Really?

hes a twat

hes milking the hell out of this, making himself look like a martyr or something

the whole incident was disgusting, mainly because its obvious that kind of mindset (unabashed racism) still exists. but if something like that destroyed his life then hes been lving a plastic bubble up intil now

For those of you on twitter, apparently the court hearing last week had up to the min updates, also the infamous video has been shared on social media showing & proving that one lad wasnt even on the same carriage where the incident took place.

I just hope common sense prevails & the lads involved win their cases against banning orders, i wont hold my breath though.

The boys were never going to get a fair trial whether they were guilty or not. Once the Twitterati get going it's a fait accompli.

I'm afraid these guys only have themselves to blame.

Carshalton Blue provides a link to the whole film above.

The only one who may rightfully feel aggrieved is the guy who wasn't involved in the incident but on the next carriage.

He obviously had previous but I'm not sure why he was summoned for this incident.

The man should have been allowed on the carriage. If he had been another Chelsea fan he would have been allowed.

Worse are the taunts after he's pushed off, the chant about being racists.

That's not on.

It was caught on camera and anyone seen preventing that guy getting on or taunting him was going to get banned ..

And quite right too.

mugs the lot of them, cameras are everywhere on public transport because of crime and the new terror bollox

plus  every other person down there has a smart phone with a video recorder

Chelsea Football Club has today issued life bans to five individuals involved in incidents prior to the club’s UEFA Champions League match against Paris Saint-Germain on 17 February 2015.

This follows Stratford Magistrates' Court’s decision to issue multi-year football banning orders to Richard Barklie, Josh Parsons, William Simpson and Jordan Munday. Dean Callis earlier received a banning order.

The club will always reserve the right to decide who purchases tickets to attend Chelsea matches, and the behaviour of these five individuals was abhorrent, against all of the club’s values and falls way below the standards the club expects of supporters attending our games.

Therefore the club's bans permanently prohibit any of these individuals from attending Stamford Bridge or purchasing tickets from the club for any future matches.

The club will continue to take action against any supporters we feel behave in an anti-social manner and will cooperate with the relevant police authorities with any future investigations.

Chelsea FC is proud of its diversity, which runs throughout the club – from our owner to our multi-cultural playing squad and backroom team, the staff and our fans.

We are also proud to support the work of Kick it Out and Show Racism the Red Card, among other organisations, as well as the work of the Premier League, UEFA and the Football Association.

The club’s commitment to eradicating discrimination in all its forms is highlighted by our Building Bridges campaign, which promotes equality in our communities.

Numerous communication methods are provided to supporters at all games detailing how they can report discrimination of any kind. The details can be found at chelseafc.com and in all matchday programmes.

Good news, the right response from CFC. We do not want these people representing, or infiltrating, our fan base. Congratulations to the club for handling this one as well as they possibly could
