Kenedy aka 'The New Hulk'

Featured Replies

Yeah he looked strong and quick with a high work rate, he did gave the ball away a little but there were a few glimpses of his talent a 50 yard pin point cross field pass for one. He looked very much like he can make it in the BPL whether that's for Chelsea or a lesser team only time will tell. A lot of positives from that performance though can't wait to see him develop.

Anyone else find it bizarre that we started him in the final warm up game ahead of the likes of Remy, Cuadrado and Moses?

Surprised yeah, shows Jose is keen on him at least.

If we haven't signed him and he's on trial it makes sense.

If it was a trail, he passed with flying colours, didn't look out of his depth at all.

19 years old, raw and very, very pacy.

Direct, tenacious, energetic, showed intelligence and moments of skill and vision.

No idea how he'll develop but the raw talent is there.

All I can think is that it's a way of trying to secure him a work permit by showing we intend to play him.

No idea where he fits in with a squad containing Hazard, Willian, Moses, Cuadrado and Traore.

Still a lot of ambiguity about who our attacking midfielders are going to be with rumours still circulating about Juventus' interest in Cuadrado and Jose suggesting that Moses staying isn't guaranteed.

The fact that we have 3 players (Cuadrado, Moses, Traore) in the squad who already have question marks over their heads about whether they should be a part of the first team squad this season I just found it strange to give minutes to a lad who isn't even ours in our final pre-season fixture. Especially when if we do complete a deal for this lad at the moment you would guess he'd head out on loan this year.

Ramires is what 28/29 and I'd still describe him as raw

what is happening to the traditional brazilian football names of old? the new crop are starting to sound like a bunch of farmers from yorkshire.

so we have 4 right sided players now in cuadrado, moses, kenedy and traore. i wonder if jose will keep traore as back up striker/winger and let one of moses or cuadrado leave.

I suppose there's only so many names that end in 'inho'  !

Willian ?

Is Cuadrado almost gone?

Given the number 11 shirt and no string rumours that he's leaving.

I think we're stuck with him until January. Although most would probably pick Kenedy or Moses over him atm

Juventus are pushing for him, apparently.

Chelsea better sell him this summer because truth is his price will fall. No way is he going to play a lot of games this season

Kenedy might well get a work permit but I'd suggest it'll be a long time before we see him in a Chelsea first XI again.

Great suggestion. I dont know if Jose agrees with your suggestion. We will see. The good thing about this is that Jose watches the player on the pitch and selects his team based on that. First, they claimed the kid was poor on youtube and will be loaned and never to be heard from again. Then now, they claim, "oh! He might get his permit, but it will be long before he plays." LOL. You guys never learn your lesson.

I know what you mean. It's always nice to hope and dream about the youth players. Unfortunately for me, when it comes to youngsters CFC have long since turned these dreams into cynicism!

I wouldnt even call this hope and dreams. The coach specifically said the club is pushing for a work permit because he likes the player and he wants the player to play or him now.

Take a look at Kenedy's friends -- Nathan. The club purchased him and straight out on loan he went. Thats a player the coach doesnt want right now and one the coach does not believe will contribute right now

Anyone else find it bizarre that we started him in the final warm up game ahead of the likes of Remy, Cuadrado and Moses?

No. Jose explained it. Jose said he wanted to give him minutes in the first 2 games, but the player's "documents" didnt arrive until yesterday. And since he hadnt played any pre-season games, he had to give him minutes yesterday.

If we haven't signed him and he's on trial it makes sense.

I do not even believe its a trial. Like Nathan, Chelsea could easily sign Kenedy and send him to Vitesse. It is clear that chelsea hsa already agreed the 6 million fee. And with Jose;'s comments, it is clear that chelsea i waiting for the work permit before they finalize the deal.

You seem to be purposefully ignoring Jose.

Jose made it clear - Traore is NOT going to be loaned

Jose made it clear to Hughes - Moses is NOT going on loan

Jose made it clear yesterday - If we secure a permit for Kenedy, he is NOT going on loan.

These are Jose'c clear words. I dont see any ambiguities or "question mark."
