The Victory Parade (attendance compulsory)

Featured Replies

In 2005, 2006 and 2010 I stood at Elm Brook Common. Got a good view and the buses stop there for a while. As Blue Daze says, get there early.

Missed the parade in 2012 as was still travelling back from Munich.

How early is early?  It starts at 12 doesn't it?

My Liverpool-supporting boss is in London that weekend.  I suggested to her that she might want to head over to SW6 to watch the parade.  I am cruel aren't I?  Though I didn't add that it might be the one time for a while she has the opportunity to see a PL victory parade!

If I remember correctly I got there between 10.30 and 11.00. Yes, does start at 12. Means hanging around for a while but worth it to get a good view. A few cans of beer helps pass the time. Will be nice for you boss to see the PL victory parade.

Anyone know the best spot to stand? Like where the bus stops and they talk to the fans via microphones again haha.

Gem, a good spot is on Eel Brook Common near the junction of the New Kings Road and Wandsworth Bridge Road. Bus normally stops there for a while. Have stood there for parades in the past and views are good.

Yep booked my rail ticket yesterday evening to travel home at half past five on 25th.  This morning, strike announced from 5 o'clock.  Great.

May have to miss the parade and travel home on the Sunday instead.

A right pain the strike starting at 5pm. Normally people hang around after the parade for a few beers and trip to the shop. Luckily I don't have too far to travel but for those who do it's going to be a bloody nightmare.

I need to get three trains........ Don't think it's going to happen unless the strike is called off.

Hopefully it will be given that thousands of people have made plans for the Bank Holiday weekend. Two of my nephews are planning to come up from Chatham. May not be able to get home. I may end up driving and parking at work so I can give them a lift home.

Yep. Going from a town of less than 3,000 to London is crazy itself, dealing with being packed onto a tube train like sardines at peak hour and having people making jokes about dying... ah, London humour,

I intended to watch the match but NZ telly was playing Manchester United... ergh. Oh well. Stuff watching us lift it on a stream, Chelsea TV will be on Sky at some point so I can drink it all in in glorious HD.

I planned and all-nighter around it but ended up doing a lot of typing over at the football ramble. None of it about football. This was basically my night:
